Ok, after further investigation, I think the new serpentine belt is also
slipping. This Conti belt just makes a lot less noise when it slips. I
think I need a new belt tensioner spring. May try cleaning off the new
belt and pulleys first.

My advice: replace entire lower control arm. FAR less work, only a spring
compressor and a saw-z-all are required. Buy all new eccentric bolts.

From the StarTekInfo site, the E320 211 CDI (211.026, with 648.961 inline
6 engine), was produced from 2004 to 2006.
The E320 211 Bluetec began production 2007, 211.022, with 642.920 v6

Finally have my '95 E300 Diesel AC working reliably. My first problem
(belt slipping) was finally corrected when I broke out the FSM section 83
(HVAC repair) and noticed in one of the pictures how the serpentine belt is
supposed to be routed...ooops... I had figured out possibly the only way to
I've begun installing a #17 head on my '87 wagon. Attached the exhaust
manifold (new copper nuts), placed the head onto the block (new MB head
gasket, made by Elring) and bolted it down.
I did re-use the head bolts, after measuring each one to make sure they
were within the FSM specified
Injectors: This head has pre-chambers which require the later style
inclined injectors (NA35X). I exchanged a set of used NA36X injectors,
which I no longer need as they fit the original head, with Tim Crone. Tim
took them from Wilton's dead 126 engine. I sent the new injectors to a
gentlemen
I love the color. When detailing the engine bay, did you remove the
plastic covers to clean them?

I'll take my '95 E300 with 348k miles across country any day. Long trips
are the easiest driving for any car, it's the short-haul stuff around town
that is really hard on them.
