I don't think any state will let you do that any more. the CDL is based on the mfg tag. So a truck built before the CDL came in that were rated 26,500 requires a CDL. I think the CDL law required the states to register at the GVW rating. At least I have not seen any ton rating license

Should use 11R x 22.5 tires, which are common to all semi tractors and in good supply,, even as retreads for the drive tires ... about $200 each... Steer tires should always be virgin rubber, no recap.. so another $350 each for two of those. What engine does it use? Would make a killer rollback
