Yep, that's what it was. The box it was built on had a huge value for
shminfo_shmmax (apparently it was running oracle at one time or
another). So for now the simplest solution was to rebuild the mm
library on this particular target machine and then rebuild apache on
that box.

just one limit on AIX (I believe on versions before AIX 4.3.X), and

As I said in one of my previous mail, I used to get an error running 'make
test' on mm-1.0.6 on AIX4.2, but when I . increased "#define

What I meant with fail to compile mm-1.0.6 was that I
succeded to do 'make' but when I tried to run 'make test' I got segmentation
fault when testing allocation of MM object. This seems to come out of that the
system is unable to determine the shared memory maximum segment size

Currently I've implemented the following variants which already cover 95% of
all current major Unix platforms AFAIK:
Shared Memory:
o Classical mmap() on temporary file
o SVR4-style mmap() on /dev/zero
o mmap() via POSIX.1 shm_open() on temporary file
o 4.4BSD-style

One thing I noticed that if all 3 mutexes are available, fcntl()
will be chosen (since it's the last).
