Bid enough you still win the item.
If the snipe isn't high enough there's no time for sniper to react and bid
again.
If you resent not having time to respond to a snipe bid, and want to bid more
really you should have bid that amount in the first place.

I'm not sure I follow. If you bid the maximum amount you are willing to pay for
an item, you will either lose that item to someone who is willing to pay more
If Rich is wanting a much-sought-after Chandler item, there is no
rule saying he has to sit by his computer all night watching it. He
can enter his bid for it anytime he wants, either manually or by snipe.
The only thing that matters is how much he is willing to pay for the item.

Its only drawback as far as I can tell, and it's a minor one, is that you can

It seems like you could add that feature to your web site and not have to pay

Basically, the argument for sniping is that the buyer will get a better price
on the item
Hi to you all
There are quite a few websites around that allow you to snipe on auctions. Some
charge a fee and some don't. I used to use one that charged but have lately
switched to another site that is totally free. Just wondering if any of you use
sites that charge a fee for sniping and, if
Use BidTamer, have paid but at the moment using the free version.
By paying fee snipe buffer can be reduced to 3 seconds, free version is minimum
of 10 seconds.
Also, with free version there's a limited number of snipes, think it's 3 a week.

Your right. Look at the bids on this 2001: a space odyssey postcard. If martinjurb had sniped, stranamore1964 would of put in a bid of 46.99 at 8:25:06 and would be the high bidder until martinjurb sniped and won for 47.99 instead of paying 97.99.
and win by a smidgen more... or simply make you pay more than you would have otherwise.
