platforms to sync, so you'd have to get your cloud provider to install the
server and supporting systems. That wouldn't be cheap even if it was an

On iOS and Android there’s a standard view called Start in the Next 7 Days.
Doesn’t this do what you want or am I missing something? Today (17th) it shows
me tasks including ones with a start date of the 23rd and a due date of the

As you suggest it is not as simple as just adding a timer to initiate the sync.
The mobile device would need to check if there is a network connection to a PC
with MLO installed. What if the PC or mistaking device had a different IP
address to the last time it connected, a likely situation if
I use a Surface Pro 6 and haven’t noticed any lag. How did you transfer your
MLO tasks from your old computer? Did you create a new local file and sync it
with the cloud, or did you copy the file? If the latter it could be a damaged
file so I’d try the former.

One problem with MLO is that due dates have to be set for repeating tasks even
if it doesn't make sense. Dwight's workaround for this is to set sure dates so
far in the future that they effectively never become due.

My suggestion is to have a “Due Tasks” view that grouped by due date. That way
the “new” tasks would appear in a Today group while the “current day” tasks
would appear as Yesterday. Then just collapse the Today group. This would also
enable you to see what’s coming up after you’ve slept!

I don't know the methodology you refer to, but have you tried "playing" with
the Importance and Urgency sliders in an Active Actions view? These coupled
with Context filters and context active times may achieve most of what you
describe.

This has been reported a number of times over the years, including by myself a
couple of years ago. One problem is that MLO uses midnight as the time for
untimed tasks which get screwed up on a sync in a different time zone. It would
be better just to use the date.

Regarding the crashing, it sounds like you had a corrupted or malformed task. I
had this a long while ago, but without identifying the task and it's location
in the tree it will be impossible to track down the cause. I couldn't replicate
the problem and it never came back.
Regarding the cloud
I wasn't suggesting that older Android versions get updates of functionality,
just that the existing functionality isn't broken by updates to the cloud
infrastructure, hence rendering v1 useless.
New features should be for the latest version.

I find the cloud sync solves all these problems. I synchronise many devices, 4
x Android, 1 x iPad and 3 x PCs and all stay perfectly synced. I don't even
