[onap-discuss] [OPNFV Auto] installation of ONAP on the Auto Arm pod

2018-02-19 Thread gerard.d...@wipro.com
Hello everybody,

About the installation of ONAP with DCAE on the Arm pod (OPNFV Auto project),
how can we best converge ?
Maybe initiate a discussion on these 2 mailing lists (ONAP and OPNFV-Auto), and
then arrange for an ad-hoc audio conference later this week ?

It seems the preferable direction is to aim for an ONAP/Kubernetes variant.

Adolfo, your name was mentioned about a successful (at least partially) install
of ONAP on Arm-based OD1000 (SoftIron OverDrive 1000). Would you be able to
chip in ? Is there a URL with info on that ONAP installation ?

The Arm-compatible VNFs can be either on K8S or OpenStack (as long as there are
enough resources on the Arm pod to have multiple co-existing environments). The
VNFs would have to be installed via ONAP (i.e. onboarded via SDC, and deployed
via VID), not via an installer.

DCAE does not run yet on K8S, but hopefully will at some point. The Resilience
Improvements tests need DCAE, because they require VI monitoring and CLAMP
closed loops enforcing: see
https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/AUTO/Auto+Use+Cases#AutoUseCases-UseCase2
with test pattern updated after today's Auto meeting (Monday Feb/19).

Best regards,
Gerard Damm

Re: [onap-discuss] Working demo ?

2018-02-19 Thread Michael O'Brien
Sorry for not writing clearly - I was thinking in my head "onap" when I wrote
oom

Hi, There are a multiple levels of working state (onap up, onap+dcagegen2
up, onap+vnfs, and onap+dcaegen2+vnfs+closedloop)

OOM will deploy all of onap except DCAE via master on any type of environment
OOM will deploy all of onap including DCAE vi amsterdam and the heat side
cloudify controller on an openstack environment
ONAP (whether deployed via OOM or HEAT) will allow for VNF orchestration via
SO with occasional bug workarounds in master/amsterdam only on openstack until
SO/Multicloud brings in cloud-native VNF orchestration that is in the works.
The amsterdam branch deploys DCAEGEN2 via OOM only on openstack using
Alexis's heatbridge between the two dcae controllers on both sides. It last
worked for me before the openlab IP reset last week up to the CDAP nodes - I
fail partway through for now on lack of IPs
I have not verified closed loop for 2 months.

2018-02-19 Thread HERNANDEZ-HERRERO, JORGE
Hello Barath,

This set up may have some limitations with operations that involve DMaaP
communication, such as the brmsgw and drools pdp when a new operational policy
is pushed (rules jar) since the DMaaP container is not spawned here. You
could confirm that this is the case by going into the brmsgw container log
directory, somewhere under $POLICY_HOME/servers/brmsgw/, it should show some
communication failure errors pushing an update through the DMaaP channel.

Re: [onap-discuss] [SO][Multicloud] How to get SO deploy VNF using Multicloud on any type of VIM?

2018-02-19 Thread Alexis de Talhouët
Suraj,

As far as I know, the SO code is supporting HEAT *only* to create a VNF, hence
does support only VIM supporting HEAT. Using MultiCloud to authenticate to the
VIM is fine, but SO doesn’t offload the creation of the VNF to MultCloud. Hence
for a VIM not supporting HEAT, and not OpenStack based, this doesn’t work.

I’m wondering if there is any design document about having SO completely
relying on MultiCloud instead of relying on its own HEAT support.

2018-02-19 Thread Bisht, Suraj (Nokia - US/Irving)
Hi Alexis,

Attached mail earlier has all steps for SO integration as well

For other cloud SO config should be

Case 2: SO instantiate a VF modules via MultiCloud

In this case, VIM registration information refers to
MultiCloud endpoints which is a proxy to underlying VIMs, so the identity_url
looks like:

"identity_url": "
http://10.0.14.1:80/api/multicloud-titanium_cloud/v0/pod25_RegionOne/identity/v2.0;,
Above should invoke multi-VIM API supporting various VIM types, supported VIM
types are available in following link “Release Components Name“

https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Resources+and+Repositories#ResourcesandRepositories-MultiVIM/Cloud

As far as I am aware, SO does not integrate with Multicloud. There is no
adaptor in SO that interfaces with Multicloud.
The VoLTE use case had SO integrated with VFC/NFVO which in turn interfaces
with Multicloud. I was also looking for something similar and was hoping that
the VoLTE use case had integrated SO and multivim but that was not the case.
The other Amsterdam use cases do not use multivim.
I maybe wrong and the multicloud experts can clarify.

Hi SO and Multicloud experts,

Can SO seamlessly hand off request to multicloud in Amsterdam? or master?

How such process is / would be working? I tried to look for design/integration
doc but couldn’t find any. I landed here:
https://jira.onap.org/browse/MULTICLOUD-21 but not much is explained in the
ticket.

Looking at the code, I could find only one implementation of MsoVnfAdapter
here:
https://github.com/onap/so/tree/master/adapters/mso-vnf-adapter/src/main/java/org/openecomp/mso/adapters/vnf

I need to deploy VNFs on a specific type of VIM, not OpenStack, nor Rackspace,
my impression was I need to create the multicloud driver for this VIM, and
then, auto-magically, SO would be able to get to this driver. How? Can SO fetch
VIM info from AAI in the case of use using multicloud ?

Please help me understand what is there and how it should be done, so I can
understand the missing pieces and help toward that goal.

Re: [onap-discuss] Working demo ?

2018-02-19 Thread SULLIVAN, BRYAN L (BRYAN L)
I’m not sure yet, but the DSL should generally be aligned with the TOSCA simple
profile for NFV, at least as a starting point for aligning with whatever DSL
variant ONAP requires. In the OPNFV Auto project we are working toward
TOSCA-based VNFs that will be lifecycle-managed through ONAP (see
https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/AUTO/Auto+Use+Cases, Resiliency Improvements
through ONAP as example). So we will be developing blueprints in whatever DSL
variant ONAP requires, and I will start with the simple ones below for smoke
tests of the integrated ONAP+VIM platforms under test. If we can stay aligned
in those developments across OPNFV and ONAP, we’ll each probably get there
sooner.

Not real “VNFs”, but you can look at the Hello-World and 3Node examples from
the Models repo, in
https://github.com/opnfv/models/tree/master/tests/blueprints

The scripts that deploy these are in
https://github.com/opnfv/models/tree/master/tests.
But I think your main ask was for the TOSCA blueprints.

Hi Michael and thanks for the feedback.

What I primarily want to do is ONAP + TOSCA based VNF (simple VNF with 1 or two
VMs and a virtual network)
My secondary wish would be to do the same but with a HEAT based VNF.

Are there any such examples anywhere? The examples I have found are typically
far more complex and trying to follow the descriptions juts leads to failure.

Lars,
Hi, There are a multiple levels of working state (onap up, onap+dcagegen2
up, onap+vnfs, and onap+dcaegen2+vnfs+closedloop)

OOM will deploy all of onap except DCAE via master on any type of environment
OOM will allow for VNF orchestration with occasional bug workarounds in
master/amsterdam only on openstack until SO/Multicloud brings in cloud-native
VNF orchestration that is in the works.
The amsterdam branch deploys DCAEGEN2 via OOM only on openstack. It last
worked for me before the openlab IP reset last week.
I have not verified closed loop for 2 months.
   /michael

Is there a working demo that could be used on a system deployed via OOM and
master branch?

Thanks Brian,

it looked like Tacker descriptors, is that valid in ONAP ?

Not real “VNFs”, but you can look at the Hello-World and 3Node examples from
the Models repo, in https://github.com/opnfv/models/tree/master/tests/blueprints

The scripts that deploy these are in
https://github.com/opnfv/models/tree/master/tests. But I think your main ask
was for the TOSCA blueprints.

[onap-discuss] Domain names and toy certificates for Beijing demo

2018-02-19 Thread FORSYTH, JAMES
Hi, All,

In Amsterdam we used simpedemo.openecomp.org or simpledemo.onap.org domain
names and certificates signed by a demo CA.

In Beijing, is there a new demo CA? From the VF2F session, it sounded like AAF
CM could provide this, but it’s unclear when it will be available. Should
systems like AAI who used TLS in Amsterdam continue to use the same certificate
+ openecomp.org FQDN in Beijing, at least in the interim?

Would AAI clients prefer to continue to use the existing domain names? Should
systems who will use the MSB api gateway re-use those domain names, perhaps
changing existing records to CNAME records that point at the MSB names? Who is
responsible for the nameserver configs? Does OOM manage this now?

Thanks,
jimmy
