[onap-discuss] [dcae][dcaegen2][holmes] MVP Installation Problem

2018-04-26 Thread fu.guangrong
Lusheng,

I've checked the mvp installation of DCAE at 10.12.5.130 and found the
environment variable "CONFIG_BINDING_SERVICE" (the host name of the CBS, which
is supposed to be passed into the Holmes docker containers as an env variable)
was not set, which made Holmes unable to fetch rules from the CBS. As you know,
Holmes has to get the address of the CBS from Consul and then retrieve the rule
from the CBS using that address.

Would you please take a look and help to fix that?

Thanks.

[onap-discuss] [dcae][dcaegen2][holmes] Guidance on DCAE/Holmes Workflow Testing

2018-04-25 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Lusheng & Vijay,

I just completed a simple guidance on how to test Holmes in ONAP wiki. Please
take a glance at
https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=16002659#InstallationofHolmes(forTestingPurpose)-AsaDCAEAnalyticsApplication.

Please make sure before testing, you have registered A to MSB:
https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=16002659#InstallationofHolmes(forTestingPurpose)-A

Besides, I strongly recommend you not to register different Holmes instances
from different environments to one single common MSB. Otherwise, MSB will
dispatch the requests to all the instance using the Round Robin algorithm,
which will probably cause unwanted problems.

Feel free to contact me if there's any question.

Hello,

Is there any instruction describing how to run Dmaap locally for development?
Which elements have to be run to test basic functionality of Dmaap?

I tried to build locally docker images, but it looks like that there are
needed additional steps such as coping configuration files.

Another question is why dmaap maven modules are separated from each other?
I have noticed there is no one single parent pom that could accumulate all
modules, define dependencies in one place and also drive one generic build.

2018-02-10 Thread fu.guangrong
Thanks, Lusheng.

Although using Consul as an intermedia is not a perfect approach, it does help
since there's no better way.

Now the solution for scaling out is there. How about scailing? Do we have to
query Consul periodically to check whether there's a Holmes instance destroyed?
Or do you have any better suggestion?

Thanks.

AutoScaling of DCAE Microservices

Guangrong,

To be more precise, the current approach is that there are two levels of
“instances”. The first is, using Kubernetes terms, “service” level. The
second is “pod” level, where a pod is a container or group of closely coupled
containers.

Using VES collector as example, the R1 VES container becomes a pod. Then
another layer of abstraction is added for addressing platform maturity
requirements, to wrap individual pod into service (load balancer type).
External world interacts with VES at the service level. Scaling and
resilience within a VES service (individual VES pod gets restarted, scaled to
more replica instances, etc) are handled by Kubernetes, transparent to outside
world, and no DCAE control involvement. If additional VES “service” needs to
be deployed, that will involve DCAE control. Instances of service can be
identified individually.

With this said, there is no current plan to explicitly notify individual
service instances about other instances of the same service. Each service
instance can probably look into Consul or Kubernetes mechanisms to see if there
are other service instances of the same type as itself.

Is this something you need for R2 Holmes?

Lusheng

But one typical approach is to push “states” to an external service such as a
DB, or persistent volume, or a distributed kv store, etc, and states are
loaded into individual replica when needed (e.g. startup) so different replicas
get the state view from the same copy.

In terms of multiple replicas subscribing to the same message router topic,
there is a way to distribute the load. That is, each replica uses the same
“groupid” but different “userid”. Message router will consider a message
received by a group when it is received by any user of the group. This way we
can avoid the same message being delivered to multiple replicas.

Our goal is to maintain the interfaces that how a service component interacts

I don’t have an answer in the context of the DCAE controller but OOM/Kubernetes
has facilities to help build a Holmes cluster in the containerized version of
DCAE (which is being worked on). The cluster can be static (which is believe
is what most projects intend for Beijing) or dynamic (the OOM team would love

Scailing of DCAE Microservices

Guangrong,

I don’t have an answer in the context of the DCAE controller but OOM/Kubernetes
has facilities to help build a Holmes cluster in the containerized version of
DCAE (which is being worked on). The cluster can be static (which is believe
is what most projects intend for Beijing) or dynamic (the OOM team would love
to work with you on this). Here are some links I hope you find useful:

OOM Scaling:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Beijing+Scope#BeijingScope-Scale-clusterONAPservicestoenableseamlessscaling

K8s auto-scaling:
https://kubernetes.io/docs/tasks/run-application/horizontal-pod-autoscale/

Here is a sample of how an auto-scaler is configured:

apiVersion: autoscaling/v2beta1

kind: HorizontalPodAutoscaler

metadata:

  name: php-apache

  namespace: default

spec:

  scaleTargetRef:

apiVersion: apps/v1beta1

kind: Deployment

name: php-apache

  minReplicas: 1

  maxReplicas: 10

  metrics:

  - type: Resource

resource:

  name: cpu

  targetAverageUtilization: 50

status:

  observedGeneration: 1

  lastScaleTime:

  currentReplicas: 1

  desiredReplicas: 1

  currentMetrics:

  - type: Resource

resource:

  name: cpu

  currentAverageUtilization: 0

  currentAverageValue: 0

The OOM team would be happy to work with you on implementing this.

Cheers,
 Roger

[onap-discuss] [dcae][dcaegen2][holmes] A Question on Auto Scailing of DCAE Microservices

2018-02-01 Thread fu.guangrong
Lusheng,

The Holmes team is currently working on the auto scaling plans for Holmes. We
need to confirm something with you.

To my understanding, the microservice should only focus on how to maintain and
balance its data flow rather than how the docker containers/vms are scaled by
their controller. As a DCAE application, I think it's DCAE controller's
responsiblity to determine when and how to scale in or scale out Holmes
instances. Is that correct?

If what my understanding is correct, does DCAE have any specific requirements
regarding collecting the status and metrics of its microservices?

[onap-discuss] [dcae] Instruction on How to Install DCAE Needed

2017-10-30 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Vijay,

Is it possible that you provide a step-by-step instruction on how to install
the DCAE platform? I'm now having trouble in accessing the Intel lab so I'm
wondering if we could set up DCAE in the CMCC lab so that I could finish
debugging and the integration testing here. Are the steps documented here
correct? If yes, I'll try it.

Anyway, I will keep trying to connecting to the Intel lab.

Just resent the attachments. Please check.

Another question is about the "CONSUL_HOST" and "CONFIG_BINGDING_SERVICE" in

I'll update our code accordingly.

Hi Guaongrong – Both attachments contained same set of files. I do see all the

pls send it?

Also please find response inline for your queries. As you mentioned the
component spec was updated, we do need to validate it and regenerate blueprint

Subject: [dcae][holmes] Holmes Component Specification Files

Hi Lusheng & Vijay,

I'm sorry that I did receive two blueprints from you team but I was too busy to
have a glance at them. I'm sending them out again because I have updated the
component-spec files a little bit, removing some sub/pub information, updating
the holmes rule and removing a redundant rule. I would appreciate it if your
team could help to update the blueprints accordingly and answer the questions
below:

for the pub/sub sections, I specified the config_key as "sec_fault_output" and
"dcae_cl_output" and assigned a random version to them. I'm not sure about the
actual keys and versions which are going to be used eventually. If possible,
could you please tell me the config_keys and versions that are written in the
TCA spec files for both of DMaaP and Policy? I want to use those keys as well
to ensure that we could get the correct DMaaP topics. As you know, in R1, TCA
and Holmes share the same topics.

[Vijay] – I will update holmes spec to match the config key with VES and TCA.
As discussed in DCAE meeting, this config_key can be defined to any string
identifiable by your application for R1. But aligning it with other mS will
help R2 (when platform is supporting dynamic topic creation with
bus-controller).

for the config_key of MSB, I make it "msb_config" in both component-spec files.
Will it be feasible from DCAE perspective? I think the key is supposed to be
determined by DCAE becasue I'm not sure whether other DCAE components use MSB
as well.

[Vijay] – Looking at engine mgmt spec, the MSB config_key definition doesn’t
look correct. The way I would approach would be to define additional parameter
(configuration) indicating MSB hostname. The value for this will be supplied
as input to blueprint during deployment. I will need the other spec file to
check further and suggest specific changes necessary.

for the data format names, I mocked them up becasue I don't know the real name
for the VES and CL event data format. I think they're commonly shared by all
relevant DCAE components, so it will be great if the DCAE team help to provide
the name of the data formats and update the configurations in the
component-spec files and blueprints of Holmes accordingly.

[Vijay] – Yes this is similar to 1; will syncup with ves and tca.

for the data format names of MSB, becasue I defined the data format all by
myself. I just set them to the name I wrote in the format-spec files. What I'm
not sure about is whether the data formats defined in the holmes-data-format.7z
are ok or not.

[Vijay] - I will validate with dcae_cli and let you know if any issues here.

for the uri of the artifacts, the version of the docker should be changed in to
1.0.0 before ONAPAmsterdam is released.

[Vijay] – Once we get working blueprint, the next step to templatize it so the
platform picks up the right version. Lusheng has framework already setup for
this; we can address this once get Holmes blueprint finalized.

For the commands to spin up Holmes, you could find them here:
https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=16002659.

Another question is that on the wiki page
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/MicroServices+Onboarding, you provided a
snippet of codes to show us how to get cofigurations from the DCAE Consul and
the CBS. In the snippet, you used keys "CONSUL_HOST" and
"CONFIG_BINGDING_SERVICE" to retrieve the host names of those two components
from the environment variables. May I know the actual value of those variables?
This is to ensure that we could use the correct host names to access the
corresponding services.

My last question is that could

Pam,

That's exactly what we are doing at the moment, using the UUID class to
generate the requestID. We are now sort of lost on how to pair the abated
events with the onset ones with a proper key for the hash map.

Anyways, we'll try to find a way to improve it. Thanks for you prompt response.

Guangrong,

I would not use eventId – that is different and has different meaning. The
requestID should be unique to the Control Loop and you can use UUID java class
to generate a random one. You could simply use a HashTable in Drools memory
and insert an object in order to retain state from ONSET to ABATED.

Thanks,

Pam,

I have another question regarding the "requestID" in the control loop event.

We are now using the "eventId" which is contained in the VES events as a key to
judge whether the onset and abated alarms are in pair. To my understanding, if
the alarms are in pair, we have to fill in the same request ID into the
control loop event. What I'm not sure about is whether the event ID in the VES
events is globally unique which means even for the onset and abated alarms
pairs, they has different event IDs. If so, do you have any suggestions on how
to generate and maintain the request ID?

I remember you have ever said that since we are using drools, it's very simple
for us to have the request IDs maintained. Could you please give us more
details?

Thanks.

Yes and no.

The vnf-id is important in the ONSET as Policy has to lock that VNF to ensure
multiple requests are not sent to it at the same time. The service-instance-id
(and other subsequent A information) helps performance in that Policy does
not need to look that information up to make the call to VFC.

For ABATED, we are probably ok with NOT adding any A details. As long as the
controlLoopControlName and RequestID match the previous ONSET, then we can tie
them together and finish the control loop.

Thanks,

[onap-discuss] [ci-management][integration] Integration CI Verify Jobs are Not Running

2017-10-16 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi there,

I committed some patch sets to the gerrit repo of the integration project. But
no verify jobs were triggered accordingly. I've tried the "reckeck" command,
but still there's no response.

Please help to fix that.

Thanks.

[onap-discuss] [policy] Crafting the Operation Rule for VoLTE

2017-10-12 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Ritu,

I'm writing to confirm whether you are crafting the operation rule for the
VoLTE usecase.

Recently, I've been receiving such questions from different people, so I just
wanna make sure the rule is being taken care of.

Thanks.

[onap-discuss] [dcae] Deployment of PostgreSQL

2017-10-11 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Lusheng,

I asked this question a month or two ago. Now I'm raising it again.

Holmes needs PostgreSQL to support its business. Since DCAE uses PostgreSQL for
data storage, we want to share it to avoid duplicated deployment of the
database.

We've had some discussion on this via email before but no conclusion was drawn.
I think it's time for us to pin this down now. Any ideas?

[onap-discuss] 答复:Re: 答复:[dcae] dcae-cli Installation Failure

2017-10-09 Thread fu.guangrong
Lusheng,How do you use the cli tool within AT? I want to set up a simple web
server to host the templates and blueprints. The reason why I ask this is that
we want to verify the component specification files on our own. As you know,
they are not completely done. Otherwise, we have to send those files to your
team for verification every time we make any tiny changes. I think that might
be quite annoying and less efficient.Any advice on this will be helpful and
welcome. Thanks. Guangrong

  Guangrong,

I discussed with Michael about this subject.  Using ONAP Nexus is not an ideal
solution.  The reason is that from DCAE cli perspective, Nexus is read only
(write access is only from Gerrit).  Therefore any new schema onboarded from
cli cannot be added to Nexus from DCAE cli.

I donot have a good solution.  Maybe we will have to launch a VM  in Pod25.
But VMs there are often rebuilt so they are not very "stable".  So special care
needs to be taken for resiliency.

The same problem existing for all ONAP design time flows and components.  I
donot know for example how SDC stores its blueprints and catalog..  If they
have a solution we can probably use the same solution.

[onap-discuss] [ci-management][integration] How to Set Up Staging Tasks in Jenkins

2017-10-09 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Jess & Gary,

I'm trying to modify the version of our components in compliance with the
requirement in Independent Versioning and Release Process. But I don't know
which the exact jenkins job is for the staging purpose. I found
"*-release-version2-java-daily" and "*-stage-site-java" jobs in the global
template. Both of them seem to have something to do with the staging things.

Which one is supposed to be adopted for the sake of independent versioning and
release process?

Thanks.

Hi Guangrong

Rather than checking out source and trying to
install from source, can you do a:

 pip install onap-dcae-cli

 instead?

Note: The onboarding env is not completely setup so
your dcae-cli will work in a limited capacity.

As a requirement, you will need a local postgres
server running. A fast way to get postgres running
is to run a docker instance. See the README in the
dcae-cli project for more details on "Local use".

 Thanks

Hi Varun,

Attached is the Dockerfile we used to build the kafka docker. Please download
kafka_2.9.2-0.8.1.1.tgz manually into the docker-compose directory and copy the
Dockerfile into this directory as well.

I'm not sure whether it is the problem of the kafka binary package we
downloaded from the apache website. I've tried to download it again. The same
error occurred over and over when I try to start it. If the docker you build
using the Dockerfile attached works, I believe there must be something wrong
in the MsgRtrApis.properties file. If so, I suggest you send the configuration
file back to me in order that I could compare with that which is on my local
machine.

Thanks in advance.

Re: [onap-discuss] [dcae] How to Install dcae-cli?

2017-09-20 Thread fu.guangrong
Lusheng,

In this case, I think the DCAE team had better proceed with handcrafting the
TOSCA templates and blueprints using the component-spec files I sent out a
couple days ago. We meant to do it by ourselves. . But due to the absence of
the dcae-cli tool, we can hardly complete the task.

Meanwhile, the CLAMP team is expecting the templates from the DCAE team and
Policy is waiting for the Holmes configuration policy from the CLAMP team.
Without the help of the DCAE team, none of this could be done.

What's your opinion and suggestion on this issue?

Guangrong,

Those dependencies require a Pypi server to host them. We requested LF to set
up one on their Nexus server more than one month ago. Last week they set up a
proxy server, but not exactly working for this purpose (need a hosting server).
So at this moment we are still blocked, and working with LF to resolve.

Subject: [dcae] How to Install dcae-cli?

Lusheng,

We wanted to verify our component spec files using dcae-cli, but unfortunately
we were trapped by some problems when building the dcae-cli tool.

We tried two ways to install dcae-cli:

1. Using "python setup.py build" and then "python setup.py install" under the
directory dcaegen2/platform/cli/dcae-cli. An error occured:

Installed /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dcae_cli-2.9.0-py2.7.egg

Processing dependencies for dcae-cli==2.9.0

Searching for python-dockering<2.0.0,>=1.0.0

Reading https://pypi.python.org/simple/python-dockering/

Couldn't find index page for 'python-dockering' (maybe misspelled?)

Scanning index of all packages (this may take a while)

Reading https://pypi.python.org/simple/

No local packages or download links found for python-dockering<2.0.0,>=1.0.0

error: Could not find suitable distribution for
Requirement.parse('python-dockering<2.0.0,>=1.0.0')

I browsed https://pypi.python.org/simple/ and found nothing regarding
python-dockering.

2. Using "pip install --extra-index-url
https://nexus3.onap.org/repository/PyPi/simple dcae-cli" which is written in

[onap-discuss] [dcae] How to Install dcae-cli?

2017-09-20 Thread fu.guangrong
Lusheng,

We wanted to verify our component spec files using dcae-cli, but unfortunately
we were trapped by some problems when building the dcae-cli tool.

We tried two ways to install dcae-cli:

1. Using "python setup.py build" and then "python setup.py install" under the
directory dcaegen2/platform/cli/dcae-cli. An error occured:

Installed /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dcae_cli-2.9.0-py2.7.egg

Processing dependencies for dcae-cli==2.9.0

Searching for python-dockering<2.0.0,>=1.0.0

Reading https://pypi.python.org/simple/python-dockering/

Couldn't find index page for 'python-dockering' (maybe misspelled?)

Scanning index of all packages (this may take a while)

Reading https://pypi.python.org/simple/

No local packages or download links found for python-dockering<2.0.0,>=1.0.0

error: Could not find suitable distribution for
Requirement.parse('python-dockering<2.0.0,>=1.0.0')

I browsed https://pypi.python.org/simple/ and found nothing regarding
python-dockering.

2. Using "pip install --extra-index-url
https://nexus3.onap.org/repository/PyPi/simple dcae-cli" which is written in
the DCAE document to install dcae-cli directly. Another error occured:

[root@localhost dcae-cli]# pip install --extra-index-url
https://nexus3.onap.org/repository/PyPi/simple dcae-cli

[onap-discuss] [dcae] Progress on the Integration of DCAE and OOM

2017-09-19 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Lusheng,

I'm writing to ask the integration progress of DCAE and OOM. This is currently
what worries me most. Because only the inter-connection issue is resolved could
we get connected to the world outside DCAE.

Thanks.

If the docker you build
using the Dockerfile attached works, I believe there must be something wrong in
the MsgRtrApis.properties file. If so, I suggest you send the configuration
file back to me in order that I could compare with that which is on my local
machine.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

It seems a lot of projects are having the same issue. The
*-release-version-java-daily jobs keep failing, which causes a subsequent of
failures in Jenkins (e.g. CSIT). Could you help to fix the problem?

Thanks.

Dear LF helpdesk,

I noticed that build jobs failed repeatedly due to some errors of ONAP Jenkins
system in a few days.

It seems that ONAP Jenkins system is not stable recently. Below are the error

Hi Varun,

Thank you for your update.

We are facing certain network issues while making and starting docker imges
(kafka) due to the network restrictions. I'm trying to change the base image
from alpine-java to ubuntu in the Dockerfile to make it buildable. I'm not sure
whether it's going to work. Anyways, I have to try.

I'll reach out if I have any other questions.

Thanks again.

Guanrong,

We had some issues with DMaaP repos and currently we are in process of
releasing DMaaP Docker image. There was an issue working with DMaaP Message
Router docker image in Jenkins. I am currently working with helpdesk to
resolve it. In the meantime, you can get DMaaP docker image from github.

Everything in github is same as in Gerrit repo except maven group id.

Below are the links:

Introduction:

https://github.com/att/dmaap-framework

https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=3247130

https://github.com/att/dmaap-framework/wiki

Steps to run docker image:

https://github.com/att/dmaap-framework/wiki/Steps-to-run-the-docker-image

Testing the service:

https://github.com/att/dmaap-framework/wiki/Message-Router-API-Call-unit-tests

Additional changes required for docker image.

1) Copy MsgRtrApi.properties to the location
/var/tmp/MsgRtrApi.properties, and change properties config.zk.servers,
kafka.metadata.broker.list to point to respective docker ip address.

2) There is one more additional change in the script, if you are running
on Ubuntu. For Centos, no change in script is required. Are you using Ubuntu?

Greetings guys,

I'm writing to ask where we can get a runnable DMaaP docker. I remember that at
the first DMaaP weekly meeting two weeks ago, you said that you were going to
upload the DMaaP docker to the ONAP repo. Is it there now?

I see a couple of DMaaP dockers with different names and tags in the repo
(https://nexus3.onap.orghttps://nexus3.onap.org). If you have pushed the
docker, could you please tell me which one I should fetch for the sake of
testing of the conectivity, availability and functionalities?

Hi Guagrong,

The actual error is:

13:27:56 testplan not found:
/w/workspace/holmes-rule-management-master-csit-sanity-check/test/csit/plans/holmes-rule-management/sanity-check/testplan.txt

13:27:56 Build step 'Execute shell' marked build as failure

It looks like the name of your directory under integration/test/csit/plans/ is
“holmes”, but it needs to match the project-name in your CSIT JJB which is
“holmes-rule-management”.

The easiest fix is to rename your directory in integration/test/csit/plans/ to
“holmes-rule-management”.

Thanks,

Gary

2017-09-07 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi folks,

During the past few days, we could not find any CSIT results for Holmes due to
the following error.

I'm not sure whether it's due to our configuration mistakes or other reasons.
Could you please help to take a look at it?

[onap-discuss] [dcae]How to Provide the Component Specification JSON File to DCAE?

2017-09-06 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Lusheng,

I want to know where I could place the configuration file which is used during
the onboarding phase of DCAE components. Do we have to enclose it into the
docker image or shall we place it somewhere else that is known by DCAE?

Btw, I'll send the JSON files to you and Vijay later to get the corresponding
blueprint files. The CLAMP team is asking for the blueprints of Holmes which
are beyond my capability because those files are not composed by the Holmes
team directly.

Re: [onap-discuss] [dcae][holmes] Instantiation of DCAE-Holmes

2017-08-29 Thread fu.guangrong
Lusheng,

Sorry for the confusion. I mean there is supposed to be only on instance for
Holmes duing the run time.

The reason why I'm asking is that I want to keep us on the same page. Actually
it was not clear to me when Holmes is going to be spun up. Right after DCAE is
instantiated or when a control loop is distributed by CLAMP. If it's the
formrer one, everything would be okay. Otherwise we have to consider to shift
that to an earlier phase.

I hope I've made myself clear.

Guangrong

Guangrong,

Sorry I do not know what you mean by "singleton" mode. Please clarify.

Also DCAEGEN2 platform has been planning to deploy Holmes as a DCAE service
component. I do not understand why you need to worry about when to spin up.

Lusheng,

As you know, in the Amsterdam release, Holmes is going to be running in a
singleton mode. All the control loops are differentiated and processed by
different rules (not by the service instance, which I think is the probable
implementation of the string matcher). Thus we hope Holmes to be spun up right
after DCAE is started (like the platform services of DCAE). What do we need to
do for this?

主题:Re: Questions on DCAE APIs

I have answered what I could inline but Mike has clarify the second:

Q: Is the complete entry point information of the config binding service
included in the ENV variable `CONFIG_BINDING_SERVICE` so that we could use the
value of this variable to access the config binding service?

Right now we do not have Consul’s DNS in the installation yet, so no.
Currently the name CONFIG_BINDING_SERVICE just points to the string
“config_binding_service”, which is the name that the CBS is registered in in
Consul. You will need to look that up in Consul first via Consul’s service
discovery layer. There is a CBS client library for python here that you can
look at to understand (or use if your code is Python):
https://gerrit.onap.org/r/gitweb?p=dcaegen2/utils.gita=treef=python-cbs-docker-clienth=6f579cecb39786d219d16a9cbacdc0d0e691d1d5hb=62fd5bed6a6f8ff8c6b159e38d7462edda0cc3b0

Q: What if we want to expose more than one ENV(not limited to the `port` only)
variables using the EXPOSE instruction? Is that supported?

I think you can do this but Mike has to clarify.

---

API Doc: service-discovery.md

Q: There's no detailed specification on service discovery. Do I miss it or is
it not provided yet? If it's not provided, when will that be uploaded to the
gerrit repo? This interface is quite crutial for us.

If you use the CBS, it handles this for you.
Essentially you will describe your expected interfaces via the “streams” and
“services” part of the component spec. That should be very detailed in the
documentation. After you do this, when you pull from the CBS, the IP:Ports will
be automatically given to you as a value under “Config_key” (see documentation
about “config_key”).___

Dear Guangrong,

The last job failed with a known error that we are seeing from time to time and
looks like it is a connection glitch.

All jobs are failing due to the missing version.properties file that needs to
be in each repo at the root level. Take for example so repo (file

Let me know if this helps

[onap-discuss] [dcae] Questions on the DCAE Config Binding APIs

2017-08-22 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Lusheng,

I have looked through the APIs you provided early today, especially the config
binding APIs. To my understanding, cb.html does not contain all APIs we needed
from DCAE.

For example, for Holmes, we need to get the configurations via the Config
Binding Service. Also, we need to get the informaion(e.g. the external IP) of
the DCAE microservices. Is all these information provided by one single API
like GET /service_component/{service_component_name} ?

Besides, we don't have the description on the data structure returned by those
APIs, which makes it impossible for us to proceed with our further development.
I know that the structure is still being cleared up by the DCAE team. But could
you please possibly give us a plan or deadline of that? It's sort of urgent now
because the code freezing milestone is very close now but we are still waiting
for the documentation.

2017-08-22 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Jimmy,

Could you please give us more ellaborations on the "cached" and "real-time"
interface?

To my understanding, for a cached interface, the data we get could be outdated
because the data are cached and they may be inconsistent with the actual status
of the resources. For the real-time interfaces, the data returned are the most
up-to-date. Is that correct?

For Holmes, its correlation analysis is based on the topology information from
A For the accuracy purpose, we need the latest topo data to support our
business. Meanwhile, we have to take the performance of our analysis into
consideration as well. For this type of scenario, which approach do you think
is better for us?

Thanks.

Hi, Kanagaraj,

That’s not entirely true – while A does not require pre-registration of the
X-FromAppId header or enforce the use of only pre-registered application Ids,
there are conditions where we need to take special handling of requests from
certain clients. A has a cached and a real-time interface some systems need
to always access the real-time interface so we pre-register their application
Id to force the use of the real time connection to the graph db.

Hi there,

This is the third time I reach out for help. Hope that someone from the
integration team could help to provide some guidance.

Thanks.

Hi,

Anyone help to give us a guidance on this? We finised part of our UT codes but
we don't know the exact coverage due to the lack of Sonar jobs.

Hi there,

I've set up a series of Jenkins Jobs for Holmes. All of them seem to be running
as expected. But still we could not find the Holmes related UT coverage in the
Dashboard of ONAP Sonar. The *-release-version-java-daily jobs have been
removed from the workflow because it caused unknown errors and even Gary has no
idea on how to fix them. Does it has something to do with the UT coverage?

[onap-discuss] [dcae] Service Registration of DCAE Components

2017-08-17 Thread fu.guangrong
Hi Lusheng,One simple question: do the DCAE components have to register
themselves to the DCAE Consul or they will be registered automatically while
they are being started up by the DCAE controller? Thanks. GuangrongPS. Please
take some time to think about the deployment of MySQL inside DCAE using the

[onap-discuss] 答复: RE: RE: 答复: [integration][holmes] How to Get Dependencies like MySQL during the Building of the Dockers?

2017-08-15 Thread fu.guangrong
Gary,

Is there an existing MySQL docker image on the server which is used to perform
the CSIT task? If no, would you please help to pull it to the server first?
Otherwise we have to do it every time before we carry out our CSIT task, which
is quite time-consuming.

I'm sorry that I can not check it by myself because I don't know how to connect
to the CSIT server ( and I don't think I have the privilege to access it).

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Guangrong

Hi Guangrong,

For CSIT, I would suggest that you start up the MySQL docker container in your
setup.sh and pass its IP address to your microservice docker container via an
environment variable.

 Thanks,

Gary

Thanks for your suggetion, Gary.

I have sent an email to the DCAE team to discuss about that. But the solution
you suggested is specifically for the production environment. For development,
especially for the CSIT purpose, we need the support of MySQL to accomplish
the FT tasks. Could the integration team help to find a way to achieve that?

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Guangrong,

It depends on what your MySQL dependency looks like.

If your dependency is to store data in a running MySQL instance, it is
recommended that you run a separate MySQL container independently from the
container for your own microservice, and configure your microservice to
communicate with that MySQL instance. For this, you can use the docker
container provided directly by MySQL:
https://hub.docker.com/r/mysql/mysql-server/. You should not run a MySQL
instance directly within your own microservice docker container.

If you have dependencies on MySQL libraries in your code, then it’s recommended
that you set that up manually in your Dockerfile configuration scripts.

Thanks,

Gary

[onap-discuss] [dcae][holmes] How to Make MySQL Available inside DCAE?

2017-08-15 Thread fu.guangrong
Lusheng,

Holmes needs MySQL for the sake of the persistence of all the correlation
rules. The integration team suggests that MySQL to be dockerized (actually we
just have to pull it from https://hub.docker.com/r/mysql/mysql-server/) and
deployed separately. Could DCAE help to deploy and instantiate MySQL and expose
the ip and port to Holmes? Or it's Holmes' responsibility to fetch, deploy and
start it? I think it's more rational that DCAE take the responsibility to
perform the task.

Thanks for your hint. The problem is caused by the inconsistency of the

Hi helpdesk,

Can you help on this? I’m guessing that the Nexus deployment is failing due to
a mismatch with the artifact groupId, but it’s not possible to tell from the
logs whether it’s a misconfiguration of Nexus, or there’s something wrong with
the groupIds on the artifacts themselves.

Thanks,

topics. In case the time is a little bit tight for you to sort out the things

Btw, please do help to grab Lusheng to check what the obstacle is if Holmes

1. Documentation - API descriptions and Dev Guides have to be provided, either
formal or informal, as long as they are helpful for developers. We are now
expecting documentation from projects listed below:

- DMaaP (Message from @Varun Gudisena: documents to be provided by August 3rd)

- DCAE

- CLAMP

- A

If you have already provided them, please kindly let me know the link. If not,
please provide a time point for the provision of those formal or informal
documents.

2. @Lusheng: I will send our configuration json file to you asap. As agreed,
please help to give the corresponding configurations inside DCAE back to us so
that we could start to work on parsing the them in Holmes.

3. @Lusheng: As for the communication between DCAE components and other ONAP
components outside DCAE, I still suggestion that DCAE to be integated with MSB.
No matter whose responsiblity(DCAE or OOM) it is, we'd better figure out a way
for this.

4. @Lusheng: To my understanding, all A APIs which are intended for external
use are RESTful. So I'm still sort of confused of what you said at the virtual
meeting that "A will distribute the topology information to a certain
topic". I think we still need to call the RESTful APIs of A to get the
resource information needed for alarm correlation. Actually you have provided a
way to configure the address of A by hard coding them into the
configuration, but it is based on the prerequisite that we are aware of the url
of A in advance, which I think is impossible for us during the onboarding
phase.

5. @Ron @Martial: If we are going to support dynamic design and deployment of
rules during the run time, what do you expect from Holmes? Do you have any
requirements on Holmes? If there's any, please send them to me. I'll add them
to our plan if time permits.___

[onap-discuss] [holmes][clamp][dcae][aai]Holmes Gaps to Get Over

2017-07-26 Thread fu.guangrong

No matter whose responsiblity(DCAE or OOM) it is, we'd better figure out a way
for this.

Yes, Martial. You're right.

When integrated with DCAE, Holmes is actually a consumer of the DMaaP data. It
does not collect alarms directly from VNFs.

Guangrong

Hello

I think the project on which depends Alarm management on your wiki page:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/CLI+Functionalities

Is wrong you listed “Holmes” but I believe it should be DCAE as Holmes doesn’t
collect alarm as such it is more the core DCAE.

[onap-discuss] 答复: RE: [clamp][holmes] A Sample Rule of Holmes &  a Question on CLAMP

2017-07-04 Thread fu.guangrong
Morning Martial,

Do you mean I have to turn to Lusheng for help?

My understanding is that since the template in CLAMP is exactly the same as the
blueprint in DCAE, if Holmes could translate the template given by CLAMP, there
will be no problem for it to interpret the blueprint provided by DCAE.
Therefore, what matters now is that I need to have a clear idea on how the
template is mapped into the rule so that I could have a better understanding on
how the whole stuff works. That's the reason I asked for a sample from both
CLAMP and Policy.

In a nutshell, I need to know how the rule is defined in the template and then
converted into the format which could be consumed by the drools engine.

I hope I've made myself clear.

Thanks,

Guangrong

Hi Guangrong,

To be clear and precise, CLAMP template = DCAE blueprint. So what we refer to
as CLAMP template is really DCAE template that CLAMP customize and send to SDC.
SDC then distribute this template to DCAE Orchestrator.

Hi Martial,

As agreed at the last weekly meeting of CLAMP, I’m sending a (quite simple but
easy-to-understand) sample rule of Holmes (see below). To create such a rule,
some information for alarm identification, such as alarm code or alarm name,
resource (where the alarm is raised) information, etc. must be provided in
advance.

= rule starts here =

package gsm.bsc.test

import xxx.xxx.xxx

rule "NFVO_SameHost_Relation_Rule"

salience 120

no-loop true

when

$root : Alarm(  eventType == Alarm.EVENT_RAISED,

probableCause == "RAM error",

$hostname:hostname, hostname != null && !hostname.equals(""),

$vmname:vmname, vmname == null || vmname.equals(""),

$aid: aid)

$child : Alarm( eventType == Alarm.EVENT_RAISED, aid != $aid,

hostname == $hostname,

probableCause in ( "compute is not available","VNF IP NSVC unavailable"
),

this after [-60s, 60s] $root)

then

AplusServiceAccess.getAplusOutputService().publishRootChildResult("rule1",
$root, $child)

end

rule "NFVO_Notify_Policy_Rule"

salience 120

no-loop true

when

$alarm : Alarm(  eventType == Alarm.EVENT_RAISED,

probableCause == "RAM error",

$hostname:hostname, hostname != null && !hostname.equals(""),

$vmname:vmname, vmname == null || vmname.equals(""),

$aid: aid)

then

Event event = new Event($alarm)

AplusServiceAccess.getAplusOutputService().sendEvent("rule2", event)

end

= rule ends here =

The question from Holmes’ side is how CLAMP template is translated into this
kind of rule? It’ll be great if you could give us a sample of a CLAMP template
and the corresponding Policy rule.

I’m not sure whether the info above would be useful or not for you. If further
information about Holmes and the rules is needed. Please feel free to contact
me.

In case I missed anything important, I'm writing to ask whether there's a

 Hi there,

After I went through the proposal page of OOM, I feel sort of confused on one
point. I hope guys for OOM could help to figure it out.

To my understanding, one of the responsibilities of OOM is to manage the
lifecycle of the ONAP components, as is mentioned on the page "The users can
also deploy ONAP instances, a component, or a change to a software module
within a component". But for some components, they have their own controllers
to manage the lifecycle of their sub-components. Take DCAE for example,
onboarding of microservices is currently being performed by the DCAE controller
for analytics applications and data collectors. How does OOM cope with such
kind of scenario? Will OOM take over the responsibility of the lifecycle
management of sub-projects/sub-modules?
