Hi list, Does anyone know where I can get the Flash player or how to figure out if I actually have it? I know that sounds like a stupid question, but I found an entry for Shockwave in my add-remove list under control panel and wondered whether this is it. I don't see the actual program so am not

Re: Sound editors pound for pound?

Gary, Not sure, but I think that the burn rate is more dependent on your processor speed than the size of your hard drive or other factors. For example, I'm running Windows 98 with an Athelon processor and I think the burn rate is something like 52x if I remember ... whatever it is, I know it's

Jim, Okay, pleading ignorance here, smile, I know nothing about the Delta soundcards. Seems that the ones I always hear recommended are either some flavor of Soundblaster or Turtle Beach, so what is different about the delta card and how do I know if I want one? How does it compare pricewise to

2004-10-09 Thread Susan Wojtecki
Hi Tom, I think you will have trouble getting TR to reliably record streaming audio as long as you are using software speech. There are a number of factors involved including the need to use the Total Recorder driver in software mode. I am not clear on whether you have been successful at

Jerry, If I were to do this, I would want to configure one card to run JAWS exclusively with the other for everything else, is this doable? Any recommendations on which ones will play nicely together and/or can anyone either give me or point me to the how-to on configuring them? Hope the

Dave, Yes, I really did appreciate the responses. I was able to forward them to my friend just about the time her headphones arrived and she confirmed that everyone was right, of course, that she could not split the channels as she'd hoped. Fortunately she has some tech help so she thinks she

Dave and Jerry, Okay, thanks. Sorry I wasn't clearer initially, should have just asked the question and left it there. I assumed it probably was not possible since I hadn't heard of anyone else doing it. Will send this on to the other list. Susan

Don, If he wants to record on board sound, it may be possible to do so without the TR driver, but I don't think this will work for any content that is streamed. I do not have a solution for you unfortunately. I was actually using it on a Windows 98 system for a year without problems by using the

Hi Jerry and Dave, Many thanks to you both for your suggestions. I guess I don't completely understand the process though or perhaps I didn't explain it clearly enough. It sounds as though you are both talking about connecting two devices and hearing the sound output through one set of phones,

Robert, Thanks very much for your response. I'll save all these posts until I either get some glimmer of understanding or find someone to just set it up without going through the how's and why's. Being a musician is one thing, but a technician I'm definitely not, most things audio remain a

Don, Thanks for the resource for Plintronics. This seems to be the manufacturer that people recommend but their products seem pricey as Jerry said. I think my friend is paying close to $200 for hers and she is probably just about as in the dark as I am on the whole thing. As with anything else,

a few Nero questions

2004-08-15 Thread Susan Wojtecki
Hi listers, So far my experience with Nero has been limited to burning audio CD's via the wizard using Nero 5.5. I would like to try to do more and have admittedly not read through the documentation as thoroughly as I need to, but here are my questions so far. 1. If I want to burn an MP3 CD for
