If the Sigma lenses have the A setting on the aperture ring, it works with 2 segment meter. (not 100% sure though). I suppose they will have it, otherwise you won't be able to use sutter priority mode nor progam mode. However, I am not sure if I prefer two-segment to center weighted. At least it

Michael, If that Sigma lens is autofocus, then it certainly complies with Pentax KF mount and will enable multi-segment metering. If it's a Sigma manual focus, dismount it and look at the mount. If you see an array of electric contacts, then it's KA compatible and fully supports

Hi Shel, I use an Olympus XA-2. It's very small, has a sliding cover for the 35mm f3.5 Zuiko, built-in lens which means it really does fit in a pocket, has a fully de-mountable flash, 3-setting focus, ISO dial-in from 25-800, self-timer, very quiet electronic shutter. Where I go, it goes.

I just got back from a cycling trip in the French Pyrenees. Not quite the Himalayas, maximum we reached was 2000m. Lots of mountains though. I took my MX and 40mm lens. I also took a 24mm lens which I rarely used. Odd, really as I'd expected to use it much more for the spectacular views we had!

My understanding was that redeye has nothing to do with how close you are to the subject. Rather how close the flash is to the lens. Let me explain: Redeye is caused by the flash reflecting off the retina of the eye. The flash is reflected at 180 degrees to the angle which it entered the eye.

Use mirror lockup. The KX is incredibly noisy with the mirror down, with it up all I hear is a click when the shutter is 1/125-1/1000. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the KX and K2 are both the noisiest and quietest Pentaxes, depending on if the mirror is locked up or not :)

Actually that's something of a simplification in the case of the LX. The camera won't meter properly in manual mode. On automatic the exposures will be as close to perfect as the LX usually delivers. The display just won't indicate give an accurate indication of the shutter speed. At
