The D's viewfinder is a bit bigger but not really brighter (the K-x
has one of the nicest pentamirror finders I've seen and the screens
have improved since the D), the difference is noticably but not as
large as some make out.
You're welcome to try out my K-x sometime if you'd like.

The buffer is 5 RAW shots. You can stretch that with a fast card and
using the 2fps drive mode.
Note that since the K-x buffers the final files, you take a hit to
buffer size when shooting RAW + JPEG.

Yes, the D is quite IR sensitive (all the 6MP bodies are). Only an IR
