The difference being that
I received the repair estimate for the 16-50 that broke my fall when I
slipped on the ice. $350 for the repair. It should be returned in a
week or two.
This lens looks fairly scarce on the used market. The cheapest used
lens was over double the repair cost, and a new lens is $1500.

Seriously, however, I can totally feel for you, Tom, because as you said

How did you get this perspective? Were you flying a chase plane?

I couldn't, and still can't see it this morning. When I was reading
the other messages my theory was that it may depend which data center
serves your part of the world. The last I heard, Smugmug used three
redundant data centers.
That's total conjecture on my part. I have no idea how it really

Nice job of capturing that lacy look that trees have only in early
spring. Something I have mostly failed at. I had not thought of putting
a point of interest behind the tree like this one. Permission to
borrow please.

Actually, I think that's a fine shot of what I normally consider an
unintersting subject - machines in flight. The clouds, the angle, the
companion plane and the piggybacking that if someone looked at it
without knowing what ws going on would find quite startling.

Three cheers for instant rebates!
When I bought my K100D Super there was a $100 mail-in rebate. I had
to send it in 3 times before they stopped losing it, and then by the
time Pentax sent me the check they had switched rebate processing
companies and the check bounced. They finally sent me
