I have a Slik EZ monopod (6205) which is all black (not the red & black they seem to sell today). Otherwise, it looks the same. It is very light and would probably make a fine walking stick. I can't say that it appears to be worth the price they are asking for it. Honestly think it should sell for

I have a modestly priced Manfrotto monopod and only very rarely use it. They're most useful for when you need lens mobility with a bit of steadying, like when you're shooting with long, heavy lenses at a race track or doing some field shooting of birds in flight. Get one that's tall enough for you

Okay, I tried Bruce Dayton's monopod on recent NorCal PDML outing. I won't say I was SOLD, but I was intrigued. I think, being a woman with less upper body strength than some males, a monopod might suit me more than a tripod. (Unless someday I can afford a carbon fiber tripod.) Or maybe a monopo
