The problem with recommending the un-branded stuff is I don't know what
un-branded brands you have in your area. They all come from the same

where you live.
The thing that can be said for the high dollar brands is that they
My monopod may be branded, but all my tripods are cheap.

I have to say so do I in this case and from an engineers perspective I

I use my monopod more often than my tripod. I not only use it f

I use a MAnfrotto 679b w/Manfrotto 486 ballhead to support the Pentax
K20D and A*300mm f4.0. The combination works well enough, (the A*300
lacks a tripod ring so the combination is a bit front heavy). I
sometimes wish that I had a ballhead with a quick release camera mount.
I expect it would ca

I have a Slik EZ monopod (6205) which is all black (not the red &

very light and would probably make a fine walking stick. I can't say

think it should sell for

Checked the last two year's archives, nothing about monopods. What do
people recommend for a K-5 IIs with 60-250? Do you also use it as a
walking stick?
Anyone want to rant for or against monopods with mini-tripods?

I have a modestly priced Manfrotto monopod and only very rarely use
it. They're most useful for when you need lens mobility with a bit of
steadying, like when you're shooting with long, heavy lenses at a race
track or doing some field shooting of birds in flight.

I think what matters more is what you're going to use
Hmmm...
That's interesting. I wouldn't have thought that lower body weight would dictate
whether handheld works as well or almost as well as a monopod. In fact, I'd have
thought that lower body weight would make it ~harder~ to handhold. I guess it depends
what one wants the monopod for. It cer
