Haven't found something compatible with the Manfrotto 393. Got to
admit that I haven't done much research either :-)
Do you have a link of a name of the bracet you are using? Sounds like
it could work with the poor mans Wimberley.

Feather detail has almost become a prerequisite for bird pictures. Shadows
are a problem.
For birds with contrasty plumage, those are two facets of the same challenge.
Picked off nicely in a shallow DoF. :)

guys with really big lenses used some flash. They had C'n/N'n rigs
with a small frensel lens attached to the flash. Nothing very
elaborate - maybe a 3x6 lens held 6 inches from the flash head with a
