Re: [PHP] Website to fax
Won't converting it to a printer be simpler and cheaper? Hello friends. I am trying to make a restaurant website where we can order on the net. However, since the waiters cannot watch emails, I want to convert the mail() messages from the webpage to a fax using an appropriate gateway. We want one gateway to server many web sites. Is there such a possibility? If yes, can someone please tell me how to start? Re: [PHP] Possible My Website was hacked... with PHP... please tell me what this is???
Although this is a very good idea it would only benefit people who had access to their own installation of PHP. Most people are only able to use PHP on a shared server so perhaps wouldn't have access to the php.ini file. Yeah, definatley reason to explore the possibilities... But this is really my own stupid fault it got there in the first place... I had an image upload form and I didn't tell it only to accept image/jpeg or image/gif i see this happen quite a lot, both in these lists, and the security focus ones. is there not something that can be set from a default install on the php.ini ? make it that by default php only accepts images / zip files / documents ? it seems to give PHP a reputation for being very easy to compromise. sorry, this probably should be a new post, but this is kinda following on, so please forgive me :) -skate- -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php Randum Ian [EMAIL PROTECTED] CBDagency Web Consultant http://www.cbdagency.com DancePortalGlobal Webmaster http://www.danceportalglobal.com -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php

Re: [PHP] Re: Warning Spammer
A site like this could have it's legitimate uses such as a mail server for a large net company but most people abuse it. The only problem these days is that they don't use one email address, the program actually generates a random address each time so it just comes in all the time! :o( Not that I know of but if you know of such a lovely place...please do enlighten me :-) Besides a lot of spam comes from offshore servers where no real country is responsible...and most countries are not bothered anyway. Spam is big business and I read on google a site is charging around 150$ a month for hosting a site and offering you just 25mb of space..no databases/php/cgi-bin etc just a mail server and you can send however much of junk you want from there Cheers, -Ryan - Original Message - From: Randum Ian [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2003 10:37 AM Subject: Re: [PHP] Re: Warning Spammer Isn't there a Don't Spam Me Or Else list now up and running as part of the Data Protection Act and if your email is on there and they still send spam you can report it to the officials of the country they originate from? Re: [PHP] This is NOT the right place to ask this but I am desperate
Have you tried typing localhost? Hi all, I know this is not the right group to this but I am desperate. I have just got Apache and I am a total newbie to Apache and to playing with servers, so as u can imagine I am floundering a tad at the mo!! I have set-up and cofig'd apache 2.0.46 on a Windows XP machine on a LAN with ADSL net access.. Now I know the server is working fine as I can interact with it on a command line and it is showing as started on its ickle control panel. Now the problem is that I let the server decide on it's own IP address by leaving Listen in the config file as just a port no of 8080 (80 is already used on this machine), but I have no idea how to actually access the server from a browser as I have no URL or IP to type in!!! Help!! How do I find the IP? Or is there something that I have missed/done wrong/broken? I am sure that this is really simple but at the moment the only simple thing around here is me!! Thanks a lot Chris that was a great help. The date is in the last part of the filename. In the example I have posted below: Ministry is the name of the club. [PHP] A little help needed, I cant figure!
Morning all, I am currently working on a project for my client that involves an archive of Artist Singles and Album charts dating from the 1960's to the current day. I would like to be able to put them into a database but I am unsure of which database to use (I don't mind learning one if it proves to be better) or how to layout the tables within the database. For example I intend to have over 4,000 different charts covering well over 6,000 artists and over 26,000 singles and album titles. Could mySQL and PHP cope with this demand? I thought about having a table for Artists, one for Singles and then one for Albums and a junction table coupling all of them together but I can't figure out how to do it. Has anybody got any thoughts that could help me along the way? RE: [PHP] A little help needed, I cant figure!
Indeed, another problem I have is that if a single is on an album, which track it is on the album. I want to centre the site on the Charts that are generated weekly for singles and albums so if I use that as my source for the lookup and then have the data contained in separate fields that are linked to this table. Will that be making things easier or harder? -Original Message- From: David Freeman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 13 October 2002 22:12 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [PHP] A little help needed, I cant figure! Song Table: Song_id A_id Type Name Length Lyrics ... That's my ideas on how to do it. There are many ways to do it, though. Totally agree with what John says. If the lyrics are long (as I assume they will be) then I'd probably hive the lyrics off into a table of their own with as many records as needed to make up one song. The song table would then become: Song Table: Song_id A_id Type Name Length Lyric_id and have a lyrics table such as: Lyrics Table: Lyric_id sequence text Hmm, just thinking about normalizing the data and I suspect that the song table will be insufficient if you have to take into account songs that are released as a single and then also released on an album. You may find, in that circumstance, that having lookup tables will help. One of these tables will contain artist ID's and associated song ID's and enable you to get singles for an artist. The other table would contain album ID's and song ID's and enable you to get songs for an album. Obviously, you can get much more complex queries going as well such as the number of times a particular song has been included on an album by an artist. This addition would also help with songs on compilation albums by multiple artists where you could drill down to a list of songs on a compilation album complete with the artist for each song. If you are doing a very simple web set up where you are mostly inserting and spitting out single table information, MySQL will be the way to go. Anything else, I would recommend PostgreSQL. [PHP] Can I use a template with this site?
Hi All, Hope you are all well. I am coding a website for a client and they involve a series of files: logobanner.php navbar.php leftmenu.php main.php rightmenu.php copyright.php These are all just simple HTML files which are placed in a Global dir apart from main.php which is in the same dir as the index.php file. Is there a way where I can have one index.php file which calls all the Global files and only the relevant main.php file? Kind of like a simple template system? For example at the moment I have this for my dir pattern: /global/ -logobanner.php -navbar.php -leftmenu.php -rightmenu.php -copyright.php /home/ -index.php -main.php /news/ -index.php -main.php When /news/index.php is called, all the global files are called along with the main.php that is in the News dir, the same for all the others in their respective dirs. Am I overlooking an important function or script that can do this without being too complicated?
