Temporary tables only exist for the duration of your script, with or without
using mysql_pconnect(). If you want a MySQL table to remain, then don't make
it temporary. Make it a regular table and then create a cron script that
goes through and deletes tables that are more than X minutes/hours

I just uploaded a php driven web site that use text files to archive data to a unix
server. When I went to try and add another archive the script fails without a
warning. It does not store the data in the text file and it does not add another
archive. I wrote this application about 4 months

mac/pc/unix.
Basically, when PHP parses your file, it see's it all as one line, and is

Dump the db into a sql file (choosing data and structure for the dump)
Create a new db on the server
