Sounds a bit similar to what I experience. Can you bring the muted
player back by skipping to the next song?

Spotty 2.1.9 playing a Spotify list on a Squeezeplayer, then stopped the
playback. This is muting that player. Now turning to another player,
restarting the song and it will play on that player. But switching back
to the formerly stopped Squeezeplayer it stays muted.

Can confirm this: 2.1.9 fixed the volume issue. The failure when
switching to non-LMS devices stays as expected.

FYI, I've just arrived at the same setup as a means of relaying
bluetooth to a waterproof speaker in the bathroom (my daughter gave it
to me so I feel duty bound to use it!). My efforts with SqueezeLite on a
Raspberry Pi 3 were hampered by poor bluetooth capability, whereas an

Updated LMS to last night's 7.9.1 & tried again. Same issue stuck at
starting & nothing in the log.
As I can't get an answer as to how this is supposed to be installed or
on what else it may be dependent, I'll give up now.

There's not much you have to do: just install the plugin like any
plugin. Then go to Settings/Advanced/Spotty to authenticate.

When I switch in Spotify (runningon my Mac) from one device to another,
they all are playing. But everytime I change the player they start
muted, so I have to set the volume by hand.
I've seen the volume issue, too. But I can't reproduce it at will. Will
keep investigating.

LMS is 7.9.1 latest, installed 30 mins ago.
LMS is on a Pi with piCorePlayer, not M2P, but that shouldn't make a
difference.

Running the app on my Mac or running the app on my Samsung Tablet under
Android 7.0 there is no problem switching the players (except the muting
problem).
My LMS is running on my Odroid U3 with Max2Play.

is checked.
