Further experimentation with the previous build yielded some REALLY unexpected results. Running "squeezelite-win.exe -o 21 -s kraken -a 50:1 -a 24 -u v" produces audio that matches the Windows driver settings. If Windows is set to 24/96kHz, squeezelite will play all audio upsampled to 24/96kHz.

Sorry, lame is for mp3 transcoding at the server level not within localplayer. You can replace the old squeezelite-osx 1.5 binary with a current one has all the codecs built into the binary. There's no need to download the codec dynamic libraries separately.

At the moment I can't look at the psot in detail but the message "ALSA _snd_pcm_hw_open:1401 Invalid value for card" could mean one of the parameters value is not supported but rights/access/permissions is most likely. Check what groups Audiostation user id belongs to ?

I should explain my current thoughts. LocalPlayer measn files areplayed directly by squeezelite - they are not streamed (i.e no transcoding or down resampling). So squeezelite has to be able to play the files natively. Your Squeezelite on the NAS cannot play Flac or MP3 file natively which
