MichaelIt may not be Spotty interfering with my volume. I just played something
using the group players plugin and after stopping playback all of the
devices had the volume set to zero.
The Group Players technically are synched players. Plus some overhead :-)

I think with the latest version the popup telling you to restart does
not appear until the plugin is downloaded. Assuming the popup appeared

You don't need to add the repo. It's part of the main list.

I spoke too soon when I said switching to "muslhf" worked on my system.
This morning none of my squeezeboxes are visible as connect devices. I
updated to 2.3.8 yesterday and don't recall this happening before that.mherger

I seem to recall that in the fairly recent past there was an issue with
the "muslhf" helper when used on the Raspberry Pi. This was resolved by
changing to the "hf" helper. I noticed today that my touch and one of my
radios were not listed as connect devices so I tried changing back to
the "muslhf
