[SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng + Custom Browse: Grouping by letters in artist menu
Hello, I use iPeng via a squeezeslave htpc to play my music, and I use some Custom Browse menus. (SBS 7.6.2 on a QNAP NAS, iPeng and CB most current releases) If I use the standards artist menus, iPeng groups the Artists by their first letter (those little gray bars). But if I use the artist template of CB, the output is quite the same, but without this grouping, just the list of the artists. Is this a matter of iPeng or CB? If it is the latter case, how can I achieve to get those bars? Thx in advance Steffen -- sts78 sts78's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50205 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90754 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng + Custom Browse: Grouping by letters in artist menu
If you want to get the bars you have to make sure the output is alphabetically ordered. Leading Articles as listed in Settings-My Music in the SBS Web Interface will be ignored by iPeng, so Robbie Williams, The Rolling Stones would be an example of an alphabetically sorted list while Tangerine Dreams, The Rolling Stones would not. If your CB menu has a different order you might need to either change the menu or the Ignored Articles in the setting I mentioned above. I'm not 100% sure whether CustomBrowse might also deliver textkey indexes for indexing. If it does, iPeng should always show the index so probably not but maybe there is a way to include them, Erland would have to tell. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90754 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng + Custom Browse: Grouping by letters in artist menu
I have no leading articles, all my music is stored of the form Rolling Stones, The and so on. Maybe ugly for some people, but very useful for me. ;) So I think the articles are not the problem in my case. What do you mean with textkeys? Currently I used only the standard artist template without going into the xml. But on some xml examples I saw something like [..]substr(contributors.namesort,1,1)[..] as the third field of the SELECT. Is this the textkey? Because when I dig into the CB source code and look into the artist.xml template of CB, there is only a select contributors.id,contributors.name from contributors. -- sts78 sts78's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=50205 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90754 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
jmenzel;661782 Wrote: Pretty sure it's 2.0.4 - at least I followed the instructions from pakarlss and input the URL you gave earlier. And, it does say 2.0.4 on the webinterface when installed. I now tried a full clean install and removed and reinstalled squeezeboxserver (going for it, tried the new logitech mediaserver version), installed the plugin 2.0.4 manually as described, changed the file permissions to those that all files in the /var/lib/squeezeboxserver directory have (squeezeboxserver, nogroup). All was clean, the conf file after restart and reactivation of the plugin: loglevel: INFO username: jmenzel cachedir: /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/spotifycache bitrate: 320 httpport: 9005 cliport: 9090 Same problems...Interestingly, when I changed something else in the config (change the port to 9001), it did save the change, and it shows up in the conf file. Only when I try to add the password does it hang. And I also crosschecked that password again - it's correct... the log (info mode) says [21:58:49.869967] main:362 /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/arm-linux/spotifydnoflac 2.0.4 started [21:58:49.870834] read_config:329 unable to read username or password [21:58:49.870903] main:373 Unable to read config file Well if the config file does not contain a password entry then it won't work with the 2.0.4 helper app. You could manually add one, but I think it means you don't have 2.0.4 installed properly as when it saves the config file it will include the password. -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I thought I'd give the new alpha version a try hoping that the incremental scan capability would help. However, I had to give up when the initial scan was still in process after 20 hours. Is there anything I can do to speed up the initial scan? I really miss using Custom Scan tags with Custom Browse, but if a full rescan can't be completed overnight, it just isn't feasible. Hi Erland, I updated to the new version of the Custom Scan alpha and it made a big difference. A scan of the entire library took about 5 hours. I then loaded several new albums and did a re-scan for new items. Custom Scan picked up the new album in my primary music library folder, but not the ones that were in folders on two other hard drives linked to the main library by symlinks. The basic SqueezeServer re-scan picked up these others fine. I'm on a Mac running OS X 10.7.1. I'm running SqueezeServer 7.6.2 which I last updated a couple weeks ago. Thanks, Triode. I rolled everything back once more, and redid it, and now 2.0.4 is working again fine. Phew. Not sure what went wrong initially, maybe I didn't clean the system up carefully enough. Anyway - thanks a lot, and I'll be watching to see when your new version will run on sheevaplugs and the like. Contrary to what I said before, the problem also can occur when I use the song's context menu to put the song on the current playlist. :( Note that this is an intermittent problem (happens about 30% of the time). This is really weird. Are you absolutely sure about the + in the title bar? I can't reproduce this and haven't heard about it from anybody else.
