why not use PowerMail's simple and elegant filtering option? then you
don't have to manually activate the script but it filters automatically... ?

something wrong, I looked it up in the PM manual and it states clearly :

invoke PowerMail's built-in recovery facility known as PowerMail First Aid.

I had the exact same error today after a computer crash. After the
message it stated also that my Index file was corrupt and if I wanted to
re-index, which I did. The crash cost me todays email but else all seems
now fine, I did not come across any further errors as you describe.

Thanks to everyone responding on this topic, I think I have figured
out what was going wrong in my case and with the information from
Barbara and the detailed description from Don of when something gets
send to the System Trash etc. I have again a refreshed and rounded
picture of it all
When I was cleaning out the other day old messages and archiving
them, I suddenly realized that my attachment folder is choke full
with attachments from spam email. I daily delete spam and up to now I
thought that when I empty trash attachments get automatically
trashed too... but why then
I DO have that enabled, so it must be something else in addition?

Thats the place you enter details like your user name and password and
under receiving you put in if it's POP or IMAP account... you then get a
