One off topic question: Why would you ever want a via to connect to a

Hi Jeff,
I tried this on Win2K Professional with no luck. I had been running under

no problems for a long time. Luckily I still have NT on the machine and

Dennis,
I don't know if this will help or not. In the past when I have
encountered strange behavior with 99se SP6, I've tried two things. One
is to go to Design Utilities and do a repair on the ddb. The ddb must be
closed to do this. Browse to the location of the ddb and select the one

I know you are an experienced user but did you try the repair DDB? Is the manual track
that can go anywhere tied to a net?

I have an idea on reference schematics. Print them out as PDF files with Adobe
Acrobat. Then you can pull up the PDF file and not have to bring up Protel 3.2.
All my schematics are in the PDF format on a network drive so all the co-workers who
don't have Protel can reference the schematics. We
well to respond to myself somewhat embarassededly

i didn't look at the ONLINE 'TAB'

Jeff,
I can't say I've ever heard of that happening before. The only
thing I can think of is to check and see if the icons are still in the

As far as your question regarding when to repair, all I go by is

Yes - running VNC makes it happen, every time... Not sure who's
to blae, but a restart of Protel once I've stopped using VNC puts
all to rights... I don't worry
