Hi,
This procedure changes the CRS but the extent remains the same. The question is
how to reproject the extent of the shape.
Thanks,

Andreas;
Instant Print is the one; once the composer is setup it is just a matter of
zooming to, setting a scale, and positioning the print area. The other one
worked well to but the instantprint showed you a polygon of what would be
covered in the export. This was great in setting the area where
Hi,
Yes the Qgis browser is just a file browser. You need to work with Qgis. The
first thing you need to know is the CRS of the file. Make sure that in your
setting/options/CRS, you select "prompt for CRS". Open the file and try to
find the correct CRS. It my help to open a background file
Hi Nicolas,
I’m a little lost here. I use QGIS 2.16.1. When I right click next to the
toolbars I see no plugin that changes the CRS.
When I save a file there is no option to choose the input CRS and output CRS.
You can choose the CRS and there’s a checkbox to choose the extent which is not

Hi,
No as I used QGIS Browser there is no option to save the changes. Also it would
be great if there was an option to copy, paste or delete a shape.
I guess I have to load the shape in QGIS and change the CRS and then use ‘save
as’, but when I do that the saved shp shows in the same place as
Hi,
You are correct. Sorry, I was working from memory. Try Qgis geoalgorithms,
Reprojection layer. You can search the processing plugin with"reprojection".
The right click is to activate toolbars for the "digitizing"and "advanced
digitizing toolbars."

Oppure, se proprio e' costretto ad usare la 2.14, tanto vale procurarsi la
versione Portable, che non crasha per definizione e non intacca il
registro...

Hi,
To modify the shape files, you need to activate the toolbars by right clicking
next to a toolbar. You will find a number of plugins also to help modify
object.
When you save a file, I think you have a input CRS and a output CRS. Make sure
the add both. If it's not there, look in the
Hi,
Reginald, in QGIS, Layer menu --> Save As ... (or simply a right-click on
the layer) helps you create a reproject the layer in another projection.
This is an easy way you could (actually) change the crs of your layers.
Once done, the clip process should have succeeded.
Changing the projection
Thanks Kimaidou. QuickOSM is also a nice idea, especially for a small area
like 1MB !
You can draw your model in QGIS Processing, look at the end of the video :

Hi,
I found that the problem was the conversion of the CRS. When I select the shape
of the town (Lambert 72) in QGIS Browser and choose WGS 84 as CRS the extent is
still in Lambert coordinates. I tried the same in ArcMap and there I got the
same result. Then I tried a function in the toolbox
Hi,
Basically what you need is a "metatile" option, which will help to prevent
labels truncature on tile edges, at the expense of generating much bigger
images from QGIS then cut them.
See these links for understanding the MetaTiling concept (if you need so of
course...)

Hi,
Look at the Processing Toolbox ( menu Processing / Toolbox ). Once QuickOsm
is installed, there is a new tree item "QuickOSM" with many algs available.

Hi Nicolas,
I changed the CRS of the shapefiles so they match (EPSG 4326).
It takes about 30 seconds before the algorithm (Vector > Geoprocessing >
Clippen) finisches.
Then it loads the resulting shapefile in QGIS but the attributetable is empty
and the resulting shp is 1 kB.
It looks as the

It seems it is a problem only for ubuntu and 2.16 (which should be fixed in
