The wire that goes into the connector needs to be long enough to bend around
the inner piece, so it makes a U shape. Then you slide the outer part on. You
shouldn't have any trouble with the wires once you've done this.
On one of my bikes, I tinned the wire ends with solder to make them a bit
Richard Sachs has for decades built his frames with chainstays longer than the
norm, and I don’t hear anybody complaining about the way the handle. The longer
stays on my Sachs make it more comfortable to ride, but they don’t make the
handling any less lively or precise.

this, and I'm sure that riders of flat pedals will extend this courtesy to me.

Have you tried increasing the PSI and seeing if the noise goes away? I usually
run my 650x42 Grand Bois at 50 PSI or more—you may just be hearing the casing
flexing due to the lower pressure. Worth a try, anyway.

the “big miles” that some riders do. Im my experience, knowing how to do a long
ride is just as important as having strength in your legs. I’ve seen many

I haven’t used on of these, but I’m generally suspicious of anti-friction
coatings on chains and chainrings. Campagnolo started adding a coating to their
chainrings a few years ago, and it was widely reported to wear off quickly.
I properly lubricated chain should be able to resist corrosion
