The long chainstays of the Cheviot or Clem (and upcoming mystery bike?) make them the best candidates for a rear-mounted child seat. You want the seat as forward as possible to help the weight distribution, but as rearward as required to make room for your and your child's body. The low tube,

Based on their weight (625g) and description, they sound like a fast all-rounder tire for pavement and gravel. My benchmark tire for that size is the Schwalbe Super Moto. They're a bit heavier (680g) but wider (60 mm), and roll very fast. They also can be found cheap from Germany

Re: [RBW] Re: What fenders will best fit this frame?

2015-10-26 Thread Tim Gavin
Yes, you could easily mill away some cutouts so the fender fits around narrow stays. SKS chromoplastics are very easy to cut with a roto-tool like a dremel. Cut slowly and carefully. Any cut you make creates a future weakness for cracking, so keep your cutouts nice and round. On Mon, Oct 26,

Re: [RBW] Re: What fenders will best fit this frame?

Sure. I'd start with a lighter reinforcement, like metallic tape (for furnace ducts). The rear of the fenders are well-supported by the stays, but the section forward of the fork is only self-supported. If you tack it to the bottom of a front rack it would be pretty secure. On Mon, Oct 26,
