That crank is superior and I've also recently developed a new (renewed?) desire for the suntour, but you gotta leave some special parts on the wife's bikes. And anyway, you have it all wrong, this is clearly about you ALSO having some slightly more beautiful vintage cranks. B in indy -- You

Thanks for all the info in this thread. Can I mostly assume that this info translates to the MIT Atlantis? I've run the new Compass and now the classic Big Apple (2.35), I'll eventually try the G-One too. All on Velocity Atlas rims. After a year of riding the Atlantis for fun rides I'm getting

I've got a set of these with 400 miles on them (standard, tan) that I'll sell for $80 shipped (conus) if you're interested. That's the cost of one new one plus shipping. Good shape, no flats, may need some soap and water on the tan sidewalls. Brynnar Indy On Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:48:35

I had the same thing happen when I was building mine last summer. Last thing on the build was the chain and it didn't fit! But I had splurged for a 1x10 set up so I didn't have any extra links in the parts bin (first 10-speed bike for me). I had to add several links from another chain, which

Mark, I totally agree, and I'm also tempted by the tall 80s MTBs all the time. All three you got recently would be hard for me to pass up, but a tall '84 830? Pretty cool. More garage ceiling hooks. Problem solved! Brynnar Indy -- You received this message because you are subscribed to

++ on the All Rounder with space for RTPs. I will say that Surly still makes the LHT for 26-inch wheels in all sizes with canti posts. The frame clearly lacks the magic of a Riv but mimics the All Rounder. Also, any flat-top-tubed, 650b road bike. Brynna On Monday, July 29, 2019 at 1:29:21

I think I have an extra one, I'll look in the bins today. I let a friend ride my Quickbeam once and he wiped out so hard that he bent the pedal, and when I replaced the pedals I felt a wobble on that side. So I bought a new set of cranks with the bashguard. I'll let you know in a bit.

I am currently riding Big Apples on my 60cm MIT Atlantis and I can fully recommend them. I have used lighter tires like Compass, which I love on other bikes, but the Big Apples seem like a natural fit to me. They're hefty, but seem to match the feel of the big Atlantis. I assume they are about

Weight may not be a primary consideration for Riv riders but there's no reason to ride a heavier bike if there is an option for a lighter one, especially as the OP has clearly described his plan to ride this for sport without bags and racks. How about we keep the tone friendly? I'd say go for

I'm glad you mentioned this. The VPs are bad pedals, mine started making noise almost immediately. Can't have 500 miles on them and they're shot. Especially given that I have 1000s of miles on multiple sets of Wellgo B132 pedals.
