Thanks Doug,
When i programmed the chip and installed it onto the board i set up the 8 Dip
switches to agree with the 127 channel coding positions.
The original chip had the Channel 1 freq with 8 + 1 dip switches off on the
eprom board and this is where i have placed the new frequency,
Is there anyone on the list that would like an original Tait T800 manual
with the PGM800 software? (on 5-1/4 floppy)
I have one and just about to send it on it's way to the local incinerator.
I might be able to transfer software off to 3.5 floppy if someone needs it.
Email if interested
No way
sent it to Repeater builder Please !!

Hi larry,
Would be interested in both if that is O.K.with you,
I live in Aus but would gladly pay what ever you would like for them plus
postage of course.
Could you tell me what the T800 manual covers, as there are several different
versions for either receivers, transmiters etc.

Hi Guys,
The manuals including the service manual (from memory) and the software is
available from the Taits NZ web site if you need it.

Hi,
Don't I now feel like a fool, I went to the tech site on Tait and found that
they have everything but the T800 series 1.
Personally I have 2x T800 S1 VHF repeaters (as well as T300 series and other
Tait equipment), which I got the manuals and software so I could do my own

Hello Dave,
You may be able to improve the VSWR match, but the antenna may still not
perform well. What kind of an antenna is it? If it is the typical
fiberglass collinear antenna, the internal elements will be too short.
Using a 154MHz antenna on 146.745MHz will mean that the elements

I can't believe it's all that critical. Typically 1,000 pF is a common value
for RF bypassing. Since it's just a temporary connection point, I don't
think I'd worry too much about it.

Dave,
Is this a 154 MHz colinear antenna you are wanting to use on 146 MHz or one
like a DB 224 with 4 exposed dipoles?
If the 4 exposed dipole type, just what makes you suspect that there is a lot

I see. If you knew the impedance at the end of the coax then one could make an
impedance matching section which would enable the xmtr to see a resistive load
of 50 ohms, thus negating the need to replace the antenna.

Dave, maybe I can help you with your impedance matching if you could provide me
with some information. I need to know:
1) the freq of operation
2) the VSWR at the xmtr end of the coax line feeding the antenna
3) the VSWR of the line when you added the Tee adapter and open circuit coax
