The "Groups" field on the user admin page still uses Django's MultiSelect
widget. We'd like to switch this out for our own RelatedGroupWidget, which is
more efficient and prettier.

API for adding/updating users/groups to Review Repository
==

# What version are you running?
Reviewboard HEAD

# What's the URL of the page this enhancement relates to, if any?
https://www.reviewboard.org/docs/manual/2.5/webapi/2.0/resources/repository-list/#POST

# Describe the enhancement and the motivation for it.
When adding a repository to reviewboard through the API, we would like to make
it private (which is allowed) and then allow a list of users/review-groups who
can access the API. This isnt currently possible through the API and has to be
done manually.

# What operating system are you using? What browser?
Linux/OSX. Chrome/Firefox

# Please provide any additional information below.
This was raised in the google groups.
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/reviewboard/EaiPQyvi1L0

I can help do this but would like to know how to add/update review users/groups
or if there is a pattern that I should follow. For e.g. if a repo already has
users X,Y allowed to access, would adding another set of users replaces the
existing set of users or does it appends to it. Either way, we also need a way
to remove them. I have seen some approaches where appending a + or - at the
start/end of the username does it, but its definitely not intuitive, but eases
development.

Re: API for adding users/groups to repository

2018-10-15 Thread Raja
Thanks David. I'll file one today. I can also work on contributing it since
it is required for what we are doing internally.

For generally these types of requests where you can do both add and
remove(users and groups), is there a predefined pattern that I can look at
for RB?

Thanks
Raja

API for adding users/groups to repository

2018-10-09 Thread Raja
Hi

Is it possible to restrict users/groups to a repository through the API. On
the Django admin view for reviewboard, I can set a repository to be
non-public and assign users/groups to it, but couldnt find an equivalent
for it on the API docs. There is a "public" field that seems to indicate
whether the repo is private or public but not able to find out how to
associate users or groups.

Thanks
Raja

Adding Git Groups - Error

2018-06-15 Thread vsepcc
Hello,

we are using Review Board 2.5.4. After upgading GitLab Enterprise Edition
to version 10.4.6-ee there is a problem when adding new GitProjects in RB.

We get an Error: "A group with this name was not found, or your user may
not have access to it."

This problem only affects a few groups, not all.
The groups exists and my user have access.
The groups are the same as before upgading GitLab

Rebooting RB didn't solve the problem.

Is it possible that the versions are not compatible?

Thanks

One thing to note is that this is going to ship in RBTools 1.0, which is
probably a couple months out. You're welcome to run from the master branch, but
beware that there might be some bugs.

With luck, we just had a contribution to fix this (using the values in

Support disabling updating "Groups" and "People" when updating RB using "rbt
post"
==

# What version are you running?

2.5.6.1

# Describe the enhancement and the motivation for it.

"rbt post --guess-fields no" disables updating the Summary and Description.
However, the "Groups" and "People" fields still get updated if TARGET_GROUPS
and TARGET_PEOPLE are set in your .reviewboardrc file. I generally have a
default set of groups and people that I set TARGET_GROUPS and TARGET_PEOPLE to,
but sometimes I'll add additional outside reviewers. The problem is that when I
update an RB using "rbt post --guess-fields no -r 123456", the "Groups" and
"People" fields still get updated (set to TARGET_GROUPS and TARGET_PEOPLE), so
I end up having to re-add the non-default groups and people I originally added.
It would be nice to support updating an RB with a new revision but not updating
any fields in the RB, including Groups and People.

# Please provide any additional information below.

Eric,

This is a known bug where some of the existing users in the group have
since been marked "inactive". If you remove those users, you should be able
to save it.

We're getting a fix in for 2.5.10.

Review groups UI not letting me delete users....

2017-03-16 Thread eric via reviewboard
I recently upgraded our deployment of ReviewBoard from 2.0.X to 2.5.9. Now,
some of my reviewboard instance owners are reporting that they cannot edit
review groups.

Specifically, on this page: ${server_root_path}/admin/db/reviews/group/1/

the UI for removing users from the a review group doesn't seem to work.
When I tried it myself, as superuser, I also ran into problems.

In the "ACCESS CONTROL" area of the page, in the box listing the users, the
"x" on the right side of each row listing a user - it doesn't highlight for
me when I mouse-over the "x". Clicking on the "x" has no effect. I was able
to get it to work briefly by adding a user to the group, and then the "x"
controls would highlight. However, as soon as I clicked one, they stopped
working again.

Is this a general problem with the software, or something about our
deployment?

Thanks!

Eric.

Reply:

Unfortunately, due to the way TARGET_GROUPS works, it can't really tell the
difference between it being in your configuration file and if you specified it
as the command-line argument, and so this is working as designed.

Something that probably better matches your expectations is if you
configured a "default reviewer" on the server-side to automatically assign the
group based on repository or file paths. In this case, if you then make changes
to the groups in the UI, they won't get overridden on updates.

# Describe the enhancement and the motivation for it.
I have TARGET_GROUPS configured in my .reviewboardrc, and I run

I then go to the web UI and for this review I add another reviewing group. I
get some reviews, go back and make some changes, and then resubmit it for
review.

rbt post -r 1234

I go back to the web UI to update my changes, and I have to manually re-add the
second reviewing group. I don't want my TARGET_GROUPS to override groups I have
manually configured.

# Please provide any additional information below.

It might make sense that if I explicitly specified --target-groups on the
command line that could be treated differently. But my basic thinking is that
configuration shouldn't override explicit choice on the part of the user.

Re: Power Pack -Using Groups to Manage Power Pack users?

2016-08-05 Thread Christian Hammond
Hi Terry,

This will only auto-add new members to the groups, and not the people who
are already in there. For that, we have the group import feature ("Import
Users"), which will allow you to batch-add a group's worth of people to a
license (or all users in the database).

Auto-added users *should* be showing up as auto-added in the list of
licensed users. If they're not showing up as auto-added, I'll need to look
into why... Let me make sure I'm tracking this bug and I'll aim to get a
fix into the next Power Pack release.

Power Pack -Using Groups to Manage Power Pack users?

2016-08-05 Thread Dunnigan, Terrence J
I encountered a bug (or intended behavior) with Power Pack 1.4.2 and managing
authorized users for the Power Pack. I'm using the Automatic user licensing
feature for managing users.

1. I created my groups and added my users

2. I used the Power Pack's 'Configure Automatic User Licensing' and added
those groups to the Auto-add groups.

3. I then realized that no one in my groups had the Power Pack features
enabled.

4. I had to remove all users from the groups and re-add them.

5. Once I re-added the users the Power Pack features were enabled.

I wish I didn't have to remove all users and then re-add them, in order for the
Power Pack to auto-add the users. If a group has users when I assign it in the
'Configure Automatic User Licensing', I'd like it to go ahead and enroll all
users of that group.

Also, I don't see any signs in the GUI that the users were "auto-added". Where
should I see that? The 'notes' column is empty on the 'Manage Users' tab.

Feature request - Hide inactive members when creating member groups

2016-08-05 Thread Dunnigan, Terrence J
Our Review Board instance (2.5.6.1) has a number of inactive users. It would be
nice to hide those users when adding members to Member Groups. The Users
management feature has the ability to show all, active, or inactive users.
Something like that for Member Groups would be great.

I see that the Authentication Group has this feature already.

Issue 3502 in reviewboard: Separate Security Groups

What version are you running?
2.0.3

What's the URL of the page this enhancement relates to, if any?
admin/db/reviews/group/

Describe the enhancement and the motivation for it.

Users can remove themselves from review groups that provide their access to
view certain repositories. For some reason, they keep doing this, so
really, I would like to have security groups that are not review groups.
This way users can't opt out accidentally, and also so they don't send
reviews to security groups when it is not appropriate.

What operating system are you using? What browser?

Not really relevant, but Mac, Firefox

Please provide any additional information below.

As part of this feature, it would also be great if the rest api could get
updated so that repositories can be created as non public, with specific
groups/people having access. As it is right now, I can't script creating
new repos because they wouldn't have the correct permissions.

This is a very unusual issue. I recreated the user's submission myself and
was unable to reproduce, but when attempting to perform changes to the

their submission has created a broken review request.

Further, they were able to reproduce this behaviour (by creating a second

Re: Issue 3470 in reviewboard: Unable to set groups/people on a review request

2014-07-08 Thread reviewboard

Comment #2 on issue 3470 by sourto...@gmail.com: Unable to set
groups/people on a review request

http://code.google.com/p/reviewboard/issues/detail?id=3470

I may have discovered part of the issue. It seems having a pending review
request draft which depends on another review request (in this case,
#119160) causes it.

I can reproduce this by setting the Depends on field using the number of
the review request. The review request draft in question can still be
viewed without issue through the administrative backend.

Interestingly, this also displays another bug. If an administrator (or
person with appropriate permission) accesses a review request for which a
review request draft exists, those changes will not initially be shown. If
they attempt to make any changes however, then they will see the content /
changes made within that draft.

The appropriate part of the WSGI Request in case it helps:

path:/api/review-requests/119175/draft/,
GET:QueryDict: {},
POST:QueryDict: {u'depends_on': [u'119160'], u'api_format': [u'json'],
u'expand': [u'depends_on,target_people,target_groups']},

Issue 3321 in reviewboard: Add UI to join groups from the group page

2014-05-01 Thread reviewboard

Status: New
Owner:
Labels: Type-Enhancement Priority-Medium

New issue 3321 by buck.a...@gmail.com: Add UI to join groups from the group
page

http://code.google.com/p/reviewboard/issues/detail?id=3321

What version are you running?
1.7.6, but this functionality also doesn't exist in 2.0 RC2.

What's the URL of the page this enhancement relates to, if any?
http://reviewboard.mysite.com/groups/groupname/

Describe the enhancement and the motivation for it.
There should be a button to join (or leave, if already joined), and
possibly also to star (or unstar) a group directly from its group page.
This would be nice because it would allow users to link someone directly to
the group and tell them to join it, instead of telling them which group to
join and having them hunt through the group list (particularly annoying for
RB installations with many groups). Additionally, it allows the user to
browse groups that might be relevant to them and immediately join without
having to revisit the group list to do so.

What operating system are you using? What browser?
Linux. Firefox.

Comment #2 on issue 3321 by buck.a...@gmail.com: Add UI to join groups from
the group page

http://code.google.com/p/reviewboard/issues/detail?id=3321

I reviewed issue 400 prior to submitting this request and I don't believe
that this is a duplicate. This request is specifically asking for
additional UI on the groups page to join or leave (or watch or unwatch)
that specific group. For example, assuming you're a member of the djiblets
group on http://reviews.reviewboard.org, this page:

https://reviews.reviewboard.org/groups/djblets/

Should have a button (perhaps beside 'Hide closed') allowing you to leave
the group. If you weren't a member, it should instead allow you to join. A
second, similar link could exist for watching (unless you do decide to
merge watching into joining).

Issue 3267 in reviewboard: The 'visible' checkbox in review groups does not do anything

What version are you running?
1.7.4

What's the URL of the page containing the problem?
/reviewboard/r/reviewid

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In the Admin dashboard, create a review group, check the 'Visible'
checkbox and check the 'Invite only' checkbox

2. Create a review assigned to the review group created in step 1.
3. Log out
4. Select the 'All Review Requests' link
5. Select the review that was created in step 2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The review should have been displayed, instead the following was displayed:
---
You don't have access to this review request.

This review request is private. You must be a requested reviewer, either
directly or on a requested group, and have permission to access the
repository in order to view this review request.

What operating system are you using? What browser?
Server OS: FreeBSD 10.0

Client OS: MacOS X Mavericks
Browsers:
Safari 7.0.1
Firefox 27.0.1

Please provide any additional information below.
It seems that reviewboard/reviews/models.py fetches the 'visible' boolean
value, but does not use it in the is_accessible_by() method.

The following attached patch seems to fix the issue.

Creating review groups

2014-01-30 Thread Eric Miller
Does anyone know if there is a way to automatically create and update
review groups? The API documentation says no.

In particular we'd like to set up a central ReviewBoard installation for
various groups and mimic the existing access control layers that we already
have automatically.
Does it require injecting the groups directly into the database or is there
a better way?

Thanks,
Eric

Re: Creating review groups

2014-01-30 Thread David Trowbridge
Well that's embarrassing. I guess we never removed that from the docs when
we added the capability.

You can create them with a POST to the review group list resource, and then
edit details through PUT on the review group resource and manage members
with POST/DELETE on the review group user list resource.

We'll remove that line from the docs.

Issue 3204 in reviewboard: Viewing review groups that you are watching no longer works.

2014-01-23 Thread reviewboard

Status: New
Owner:
Labels: Type-Defect Priority-Medium

New issue 3204 by erik.l...@gmail.com: Viewing review groups that you are
watching no longer works.

http://code.google.com/p/reviewboard/issues/detail?id=3204

What version are you running?
1.7.21

What's the URL of the page containing the problem?
http://reviewboard/reviews/dashboard/?view=to-groupgroup=AutomationCouncil

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click on a review group that you are watching (but not subscribed to)
2. You'll get a 404 error

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see a list of reviews for that group; instead I get a does not
exist page (404).

What operating system are you using? What browser?
OS X. Chrome.

Please provide any additional information below.
If I'm subscribed to the group, those views work but simply groups that I'm
watching do not. It doesn't seem to matter if the group has 0 reviews or
0. The server is also raising the following exception:

Ah, it looks like this is somewhat by design:
https://github.com/reviewboard/reviewboard/commit/d0611ab9b407814bfd5ce0cd0d4c8ebd5f40f1ba

However, I feel that this makes the watched groups feature pointless. I
understand the need to honor private groups but couldn't couldn't we just
check if Group.is_accessible_by() rather than checking if the user is a
member of the group?

Sort of by design, but it wasn't intended to impact watched groups. Those

fix this.

(admin panel - repositories - repository1 - Review groups with access:)
 - Also group2 has same access to that repository as group1
 - User1 belongs to group1 and User2 belongs to group2

So thats the setup, and the problem occuress when:
 - User1 creates a review request (repository1) and sets group1 as the
 group for the request
 - Now if User2 tries to read the review request he/she gets access
 denied

So if you set repository to be private, only the selected group can view
the review request, and not all the groups which have access to the
repository via admin panel or am I missing something here?

And if User2 is a superuser, then he/she can view the request. And this
only works if group2 have access to the repository. If I remove group2 from
the repository access list and user2 still have superuser rights, review
request will not open (Access Denied).

Hi,

Are either group1 or group2 invite-only groups?

Also, what version of Review Board?

Re: Active directory groups as review groups

Hi Logan,

I believe I've heard of people doing this in the past, with custom
scripts, but we don't have any support for it directly in Review Board
today.

Re: Importing only users/groups from old installation to new one

2013-09-20 Thread David Trowbridge
I'd suggest starting with a full database copy. If you then delete the
repository from the admin site, it should tell you that it's going to
delete all of the associated review requests/reviews/comments.

I thought of doing a full mysql dump, but we're switched servers and are
changing our repos (CVS - P4), so don't really want to import review
 requests that will become obsolete.

 Thanks!

listing all review groups and users within the group using a python script

2013-09-11 Thread Steve
I can list all RB users this way:

 from django.contrib.auth.models import User
 for user in User.objects.all():
print user

That correctly prints out all of my users. But the same doesn't work for
Group

 from django.contrib.auth.models import Group
 for group in Group.objects.all():
print group
default reviewer

I have about 30 groups defined in RB, but I only get 'default reviewer'.
What I'd like to do is list out all the groups, or more specifically, for
each group, list all the user in the group. There's probably a set of
django functions that will do that, but I'm having trouble finding them.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

 from rbtools.api.client import RBClient
