Actually what they (rain and waterfalls) produce is negative ions, not ozone. An negative ions are associated with an invigorating, calming effect. Now, lightning will produce ozone, as well as oxides of nitrogen. These however I do not believe tend to be invigorating like the negative ions are.

Perhaps a good analogy would be that of using rubbing compound on a car. A little elbow grease and compound makes it shine and protects the paint...too much, too often, for too long... no paint. Of course, people completely repaint themselves every 7 years...unless you only live for 6.
