So long folks. I've severed my subscription with Autodesk and received my
Houdini FX license yesterday.
I've got Cinema4d in my pipeline so latest news about HE was the best news ever.
Cheers everyone who's been so helpful here on the list. It's been a pleasure.
Good luck to Autodesk.

Kinda like the same feelings I'm going through.
I am gonna go into hibernation, until anything as powerful as softimage emerges.
What Autodesk don't realize is this:
All the people using Soft are extremely creative. I can not speak for all of
them, but only for myself. I chose Soft, because it

Hi all,
I need to add some random motion to some objects...
And here I thought I'd get data kine.global.pos feed that into a turbulize
around value and into a set data and execute and... og well..
I can't "just" do that. Why not? I'm having trouble with the set data node no
matter what I do.
Super interesting article.

Foxrenderfarm.com is indeed very good, very helpful via skype chat and quite

upload caches for sims as well - haven't tried this. Good thing about the self

Hey Sandy, recently had this problem myself. I just focused on how many frames
I needed.
In my case I needed 10 secs in PAL = 250 frames. So I retained the 30 fps (that
fbx loves) in softimage untill I comped.
Still very annoying!

Hey,
I have an upcoming project where a car(3D) is driving inbetween shapes, that
turn out to be a logo. It's gonna be semi realistic, so I need to make the cars
movements believable. I have a fast edit (quick cuts), so I'm probably going to
animate by hand (don't think I need dynamics). But if

I don't evern have caches. This scene is so simple. I'm using 2 texture maps
and everything else is super simple animation and geo.
Isn't there a cheat? Somehow to get soft to think it's a 2013 scene?

Hey,
I'm running into some problems with render farm services that hasn't upgraded
to soft 2014 yet (which I'm running - yay me)
Can I somehow convert my scenes back to 2013? They're very simple...
Sorry if this has been discussed before.

Hey list, I have some particles flowing along a curve nicely (with strands). I
would like to add turbulence to the particles, so they wiggle, but still follow
the curve(!) How do I do this without the particles going a-walk on me?
Whichever way I try it it, the turbulence always cumulate.
