Alan. But when LMS completed a fresh sort Alan Stivell is still under S.
Most likely those files do have an ARTISTSORT tag incorrectly set.
Any thoughts on why? How to fix? I'm using Tag to tag mp3s. I
have 11 Stivell albums plus two tracks in a compilation album. I don't

This is a strange bug that has bothered me for many years but I never

only one artist whose name is "Alan" and that is "Alan Stivell", the
Celtic harpist. I am sorting non-Classical genre by artists' first names

I think that the URI too long means the total number of characters in
the post command is too long. Its probably trying to send a list of all

i understand your doubts and concerns, i had it too. I used "volumio"
before (the same hardware, volumio acts as server and player). All in
all it went well with a maximum of ~20.000 titles. After enhancing the
database, the problems began. So i tried out to use plugins for
"miniDNLA" and "LMS"

I would suppose "No genre" means the album/tracks have no genre tag.

When I go to the player's settings for "Don't Stop The Music" and change
it from Random Songs to Song Mix, DSTM works properly. I don't
understand the difference between these two options, and I have no way
of selecting the latter from the Random Mix menu under My Music.
Also, I have a 6:00AM alarm that plays random songs. All through the
night last night, random songs was fine. This behavior began when it
kicked in a new random songs playlist when the alarm triggered it (the
purpose is a change from 66% volume to 100% volume).

use "piCorePlayer" an i did not have any problems so far.
I have samba shares on my sd-card partion (the one with slimserver) as
well on my HD. Of course, the HD is no SSD (does this makes sense using

Not sure if we are misunderstanding each other, what I’m suggesting is
that you should look at which albums I’ve set up as favorites in the
online service (Spotify, Qubuz, ...) and import the tracks from these
albums into LMS.
