I was foolish enough to upgrade to Big Sur when Apple asked me to!!
Now I can't get SeaMonkey Composer to create a link. When it tries to add the

than 50.9esr) . For 2.57, I believe that it's based on Firefox 60esr,
and my understanding is that 2.57 will support both WebExtensions and
XUL, in the way that Thunderbird does,
So SM is based on FF 60, that is not pre-gecko 57 is it? unless the
versions of ff and gecko are not the same.

It's always a good idea NOT to upgrade to the newest major versions
right away like iOS v13 and other softwares. Things can break like this.
Always wait until they work out the bugs.
If you really must upgrade and can't wait, then be warned of possible
issues and make back ups before doing it
There is a high chance that 2.49.5 will not work reliably with 10.15. I am
already seeing crashes from people using the macOS Beta.
There are still bugs open even for latest Firefox and it is unclear if they
will be resolved for the general 10.15 release. So please at least wait. We do

No. Has been unsigned for ages and was just copied. If you look at the
checksums in the older rcs you notice they are the same. We are working on
getting them signed but there we are again with not enough people around.
