Virus and Trojan free (Malwarebytes).  Could I be going too fast transferring ?

So - is a possible of 4 GB of Cache Good ?

Any suggestions of why Cursor freezes up.  Usually when I am viewing graphics

have you tried

Some sites mistakenly interpret various forms of tracking protection as ad blocking.  Have a
look at your privacy and cookie settings to see if you have any privacy measures set up that
might be triggering these warnings.

Having said that, you may not be able to find a collection of settings that provides you
with what you feel to be an acceptable level of privacy protection and yet is compatible
with some of these sites.  You may have to set up a couple of browser profiles - one for
general browsing, with privacy settings enabled, and another one with no privacy settings
enabled so that you can browse these sites that have aggressive anti-adblocking measures in
place.

you email reminded me
I have AVG and Malwarebytes running
those may be interpreted as ad block

sm / ff - ebay

2021-01-25 Thread rjkrjk

been using SM for ebay for many years with any problems
(there have been 1 or 2 over the years, but nothing major)

today, I attempted to create a return of an item
selected return, and picked one of the various options why
I was returning the item, hit enter. There was a box at the bottom of
the page page that should have lit up, and taken me to the next page
it didnt

SM / Ebay just sits there, no action after I made the selection.
reloaded page, still nothing.

signed out,and signed in with FF
proceeded to do the same as above with FF

after selecting the reason, ebay responds, with next
and takes me to the next page, where I confirm the return and provide
some more detail. It accepts that info and provides me with their next step,
advising me that a email will follow

not really sure if it's ebay or SM that is really the problem

Yes, I saw your image. However, that is not what I requested. In the
image, the top has a Print button followed by a Page Setup button.
Select the Page Setup button.

You will get a smaller window with two tabs. One tab is Format &
Options. The other tab is Margins & Header/Footer. I requested you
tell us -- in text not with an image -- what you see on the Format &
Options tab. While you are doing that, you might as well also tell us
what you see on the Margins & Header/Footer tab.

By the way, the reason I request text and not an image is that the
operation of this newsgroup often filters out attachments, including
images. As an alternative, you can create images and upload them to
some server. In that case, indicate the URI (Web address) of the images.

Double-click those rows and set the correct width and height

Google has changed a few things in the last few days.
IMO, they did initial testing a few weeks ago.
My user string does not have your problem in SM on this machine,
but the same string in FF on a different machine does what you said.
On both machines Google has eliminated the URL that bypasses their
"search help" so that now every letter I type gets sent to Google
which then suggests search words.  I hate that and their reporting home.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0
SeaMonkey/2.49.2

But if you want to "spoof Firefox" by pretending to be using that and eliminating all
mention of SeaMonkey, you need one of the other options for modifying the UA string, such as
the various add-ons or configuration settings. Others are more expert on those than I.

a rather strong statement
not dead for me, very much alive and working very well.

it just may be YOUR setup that is not working
try safe mode

a question is much better than your statement

Mozilla User wrote on 12/18/17 7:39 PM:

I believe we are looking at the final days of SeaMonkey.

YouTube has not worked in several months without switching to the Old Version
of YT. Once
they force the switch on you, I won't be able to load YT without it freezing
and locking up
when using scripts.

And Yahoo Mail no longer works now that they've forced you to the newer version
of their
mail system. I tried to download and install the extension User Agent Switcher,
and guess
what? SeaMonkey is not compatible with the current version of that.. no
surprise.

I'm guessing this browser will go out the same way the Mozilla Browser did..
and that sucks,
because I've used Mozilla and SeaMonkey for most of my history on the internet.

I just got off the phone with AX, and their "tech support" person

he claims that NO CHANGES have been made to the AX website for several months,
and that no on else has called them about any problem mentioned above

he claims that IE, Chrome, FF, Opera all work just fine with their site
(he's not heard of SM)

I did manage to pay the monthly amount, but needed to click on other options
other than my acct
sorta backdoor, but eventually got to my acct and made the payment

seems there are several people who also encountered this experience
anyone have a fix for this, rather than a work around ??

only the email client running, open the browser from the email client
and then try to login somewhere.

So the work-around is to open the browser, from there open email/news
reader/whatever **and leave the browser window open** - correct?

leave broswer open ONLY.that worked for me.
(as well as using firefox)

Fix will be in 2.49.1.

Maybe we should just drop the release notes and tell everyone to open a
lenghty thread in one of the support groups if he7she/it runs into a known
problem :)

I would have never guessed that "you may no longer be prompted for
authentication in certain scenarios" meant getting a 401 error when
trying to login somewhere. In my mind, not being prompted for
authentication means not getting the userid/password popup.

adding new account -- doesn't show up

2016-07-05 Thread rjkrjk

sm 2.40, win7 pro,

I just added a NEW account, all of the info is exactly the same as the default
account, as well
as the same as the 2nd account which I use

however, it does not show up in my account pane window
I did send some test messages... they showed up in my LOCAL Folders

I tried changing the info (copies-folders) for the new account name
but it doesn't even show up as an option

what am I missing?

is there a limit to the number of accounts that SM supports ?

Steps in Windows:

1) Press the Windows key on your keyboard, then
the "R" key. This should open a dialog inviting
you to type the name of the program you wish to
run. Enter "cmd" (no quotation marks) and hit
Enter.

Alternatively, click the Start button and enter
"cmd" in the search window at the bottom of the

2) In the window that appears, type
 ipconfig/flushdns

3) Type

Go back to browsing normally.

Malawarebytes found 15 non-threatening "Things"

After rebooting, Google came right up.
It did that about 10% of the time, however, so I

no, I switch from email to browser, type in ebay.com

Okay so you had both an existing browser window and email windows open, then I
would say
that the previous URL you were at the video crashed the flash plugin. That is
not a too
uncommon thing. The problem is flash the plugin container, not really a
SeaMonkey bug. It
happens in Firefox and crashes FireFox's plugin container too. It is just with
Firefox the
browser window just closes there no mail window (Thunderbird is separate) to
remain open.

I realize it's more of a adobe shockwave problem, since Ive seen it in both SM

kinda annoying, to say the least

Do not make the popup larger. Make it smaller.

The blue top is the title bar. Place your cursor as high as you can on
the popup's title bar and try dragging the top edge down, reducing the
height of the popup. Then place your cursor within the title bar -- not
at the top edge -- and drag the popup upwards. This should expose the
bottom of the popup. You might then get a vertical scroll bar to view
the entire content of the popup.

If this does not work, try the following. Leave the EBay Web site.
Uncheck the checkbox for "Advertise Firefox compatibility"; on the menu

the checkbox. Clear your cache and delete any new EBay cookies. Then

What is WFM?

Do other Flash videos played from within SeaMonkey have sound, or is it
just YouTube? If all Flash is silent in SM:

1) Mouse over the speaker icon (volume control) at the lower left of a

WFM = works for me

Don't feel stupid about WFM. Too many people are now using their own
acronyms in place of English phrases because of Twitter and other
texting systems. Usually, only those who create such acronyms know what
they mean.

A frequent participant in Mozilla newsgroups is Tanstaafl. That is not
someone's name; that is an acronym for There ain't no such thing as a
free lunch. I also see WTF and ROTFLMAO. Here, SM is NOT sadism and
masochism; it is SeaMonkey. TB is not tuberculosis; it is Thunderbird.

Newsgroup messages are not Twitter tweets. We all could understand the
discussions better if participants used English (or their native
language) and not acronyms.

Is this approach likely to work? Is there some better (and hopefully easier)

Default is 10,000 ms, or 10 seconds. Reducing it to 5,000 should come to 5

can definitely tell those apart.

But you're definitely right that humans can't tell between 5 and 10 ms; at best

Do NOT extract the files from within the XPI file. Instead, view the
install.rdf file in a text editor application. (Winzip provides that
capability.) Edit the viewed file and use the save (not save-as)
operation of the editor. When you close the editor, you might be asked
whether you want to save the result back into the XPI file; the answer
is yes. Then you install the extension in SeaMonkey from the XPI file
via the Add-ons Manager, or you drag-and-drop the XPI file into the
SeaMonkey rendering window.
