Re-read my paragraph. :Hawthorne: correspond to your rogue picture (with

As far as I can recall, it was nice. Yes.

With no blank line under Lynn, and this time I can' see any flags. All
your other message do have a blank line and flogs show correctly.

I had a good taste of South African beer at Johannesburg airport in

2 hours each time waiting for the connecting flight. So I enjoyed a few

Aha! I was missing the pcwsmileys.msl file which I found elsewhere (obviously
not where it was supposed to be) and copied it to my C:\Program Files\The
Bat!\Images folder. NOW when I revisit one of Lynn's previous emails I can see
her animated .gif of the American flag and her non-animated .gif of the Canadian
flag.

However, her Rougemoticon (:Hawthorne:), which is also in her sig, doesn't
display her picture. But I think that needs to be in her X-Rogue header as mine
is in order to display her picture elsewhere onscreen (not in the sig.)

In order to stave off any confusion, my picture has not been changed even though
I submitted a new picture and was notified that it had been approved. The latest
rogues.zip file still contains the old photo. In addition, my picture no longer
displays (as it once did) when I look at a message I've sent to the list. Ah,
the joys of TB!

Thanks Miguel. This is the first time I've ever been able to see the flags.

It may be due to extracting some ZIP file(s) in the wrong place in the
past. (Selecting, or not, the 'Use folder names' option if using WinZIP
to extract).

The C:\Program Files\The Bat!\Images folder should *ONLY* contain three
folders and three *.msl files, namely:
 Default
 pcwimages
 rogues
 default.msl
 pcwsmileys.msl
 rogues.msl

If you do not have any of the msl files, look in the corresponding
folder and see if it is there. If so, move¨or copy it to 'Images' folder.

If you have all or some of the msl files in 'Images', look inside the
corresponding folder and see if there is a newer version there. If so,
move or copy the newer version to Images folder.

I am intrigued that you can see the flags and the Rogue picture. I have the
settings you describe in the paragraph above this one but, like in Lyn's
case, the flags do not display and have not done so in recent versions.

Perhaps there is some other setting that you have but which we do not have?

I am finding it extremely annoying that as version five proceeds we lose
more and more of the features which we have been using for years. In some
cases it may be just from some new setting requirement but as is Ritlabs'
way they do not ever tell anyone about these changes, or their policy for
the future!

I'm not sure I've ever been able to see them myself - am I
supposed to be able to? That is, am I supposed to see the
flags and my mug shot in *my own* messages on the list?

I do know that when I first set them up, others could see
them.

It happens that I'm not seeing any of those from other
posters, either.

As I'm running in Wine under Linux now, I'm not sure it's

It's nice to know that. The flags and my mug shot

No worries ... I hope to get them back eventually, but I

haven't got to it yet. It's nice to know that it's not

enough, switching back cured the two problems I had asked about.

What's that old saying about leaving well enough alone...?

Funny you should ask. I recently switched from
Plain Text (MicroEd) (as I'm using here) to HTML
only and finally figured out that messages were
being returned by TBDL with the statement: "The
message's content type was not explicitly
allowed". Since that reply is somewhat cryptic it
took me a while to realize that I couldn't use
HTML when writing to this list. Since then I've
used Plain Text (MicroEd) only when composing
messages to the list including those where I asked
why I couldn't insert pictures in HTML messages I
was sending to others (I think).

I'm going to try and set everything back to Plain
Text (MicroEd) and see if that fixes any of my
problems.

And thanks for replying. I appreciate the help.

Thank you Rick. Well, at least I know that one got
through. I guess there just weren't any answers to
my questions.

Messages getting through?

2012-05-26 Thread Jack S. LaRosa
Greetings,

I'm a little perplexed. I have written a couple of
messages to the list in the past few months and
have never seen any responses to my queries. The
messages seem to be reaching the list as they
appear the next time I do a fetch but then nothing
further.

Can anyone see this message?
