enable the logging of player.source set to DEBUG to see what is

The issues is not audio encoding (AAC) but the transport MP4.
The podcast will identified as MP4 type by LMS but standard LMS convert
utility faad cannot handle streaming MP4 only MP4 files. One solution
is to use a custom-convert.conf and use ffmpeg (or avconv) instead of
faad - not sure if
A lot of applets and plugins are stored on sourceforge and sourceforge
was down for a number of hours.
I believe Ralphys EDO repository is on sourceforge so this may have part
of the problem.

m3u8 is HLS and is not a supported format in LMS.
The playHLS plugin may help but you need to install ffmpeg (aka avconv)
and may need to tweak files depending on your OS and your system.

Most adjustment to volume for devices are done in LMS - there is a
volume profile for each class of device - getVolumeParameters.
Otherwise for any adjustment in Touch, the best way is to find the file
which has the "wrong" values and then create a patch app to modify it.

BBC stream are now at 48khz (before Feb 15 they used to be 44.1Khz).
If a 48Khz stream is played at 44.1Khz a 60 minute program will take
about 65 minues (60 *48/44.1)
So you issue is how LMS is set up to play BBC radio streams ? If they
asre not the MP3 streams then you are transcoding.
It is strange for AAC and Flac to be disabled - as these are normally
enabled by default unless you eoither changed them or have a problem
with your installations.
As a rule File Types setting should not be changed from installation.
Enable all the AAC settings.

Depending on the source of the BBC Radio 3 live stream (e.g. http or HLS
) and whether using mysb.com or a local LMS or tinyLMS - with a standard
system it usually indicates network problems.
