Was going through the regular GUI upgrade process from 16.04, message
kept coming up dozens of times. After clicking CLOSE on about the 20th
one, I just held ENTER until they went away. Upgrade continued, gave a
message at the end that something didn't install right and my system
might be unstable.
Just if anybody is wondering, apport came enabled by default on Ubuntu
16.10 and in I would say 15 minutes of installing it from scratch I had
already 5 error reports, again, of things that were fixed automatically
when the app reloaded itself. It just pushes the entry point of Ubuntu
for new users
It seemed like it happened every time at first, but it's really only
been about 50% in the past two weeks. So every second login attempt
would end up getting stuck on average.
I upgraded to 16.10 yesterday and have not yet encountered this issue.

Luke, I haven't had a pulseaudio crash and I have been able to connect
to 2 different headsets since installing 16.04 however getting A2DP to
work by switching it in sound settings is usually impossible. Both

For me do-release-upgrade crashed right after download packages needed
to system upgrade. But after that I was able to continue upgrade started

So I'm not convinced that doing this in dhclient is necessarily right.
Unlike IPv4 where DHCP operates over a raw socket, in IPv6 mode,
dhclient is just a regular network client and as such requires a source
address to be set so it can contact the network (the link-local address
in this case).

you'd want to run dhclient in IPv6 mode before you've brought up the

I’m seeing intermittent failures in the following unit test when run by
the system-apps jenkins instance when building packages:

Removed fprint, Unity 8 works fine now (typing from it atm!), must be a
problem with using a fingerprint reader (or fprint, in particular) and
Unity 8.

OK, this time I wasn't able to get the cursor to unfreeze and, when I
switched to tty1 and switched back to tty7, I was left with the
'/dev/sda1: clean...' text which I briefly see before LightDM loads when
I boot Ubuntu, Unity 8 had gone.

Unfortunately VirtualBox is currently incompatible with Mir, the only VM
that can run Unity8 is KVM/QEMU and possibly VMWare Player at the
moment, AFAICT.
