This looks to me to be an issue of buggy scope implementations.
If you search for the phrase closed unexpectedly in the log files Pete
posted above, you'll see a number of scopes are crashing. Namely:
com.canonical.scopes.fbphotos_fbphotos, unity-scope-nearby, and
that said ^, I've just done a few reboots with nearby and news
favourited (installed from latest lp:~hanloon-team/hanloon/clicks). When
I reboot, the news scope works just fine every time. The strange one is
the nearby scope. When the nearby scope finishes surfacing, all child
scopes show up but,
Ok, a further discovery. If I don't have the nearby scope favourited
then reboot. Opening the nearby scope from the Dash Manager works
perfectly. If I tap back then open it again though, I get only the
weather and wiki articles again.
So looks like one issue uncovered is that location data is not
Ok so Pete made a mistake when posting the scope-registry log. We don't
actually rotate the log multiple times during boot up.
Here is the registry log during a boot on my mako RTM #88, with news,
nearby, photos, shopping, and dashboard favorited:

Turns out that we actually do correctly pass empty arguments to the
command. This bug was just a misunderstanding when implementing SDK
debug support where %R and %S where being passed within quotes, hence
not recognised as placeholders by the registry.

Aggregating scope
This bug was caused by a thread starvation issue. To fix this issue I've
upped the two-way invocation thread pool size to properly handle nested
calls within aggregator scopes.

Its quite easy to reproduce:
Stick a qDebug(DATA() CALLED); into ResultsModel::data(), and keep
scrolling one scope up and down. Those message don't seem to stop for
me.

Alan, the Youtube scope will never ask you to authorise access to an
account you hadn't already allowed Youtube to access before.
Youtube isn't just enabled by default under a Google account, so either:
* You logged into that particular account from the log-in button in the scope,
* you enabled
Public bug reported:
There seem to be a few ScopeConfig entries missing from the tutorial doc
(E.g. LocationDataNeeded and ScopeRunner). We need to update this
and possible some other parts of the tutorial that may have gone stale.

However, I think it does makes sense to hide some config keys like
Invisible and IsAggregator as these aren't really intended for the
end-user.
