I just installed a brand new NVidia GTS 250 (1GB GDDR3 = Sweet) so I

Well, it's not forcing a logout on Karmic. The game is refusing to
start.
The partition I made for OS testing isn't large enough for Half-Life 2
and I'm not sure if other games will cause the same crash. Lemme
install StarCraft or something to my Jaunty partition and let me get
back to you. If
On Jaunty, StarCraft caused a logout once but only after I exited the
program. However, on following plays the game played flawlessly.
Oh, and the game I used in my last post (the one that wouldn't start)
was The Ship which uses the Source engine.

I installed Half-Life2 under WINE, ran it, and when it was about to
finish the loading screen it took me to Ubuntu's login screen. So it
apparently forced a logout.

get HL2 working under WINE in Intrepid but Intrepid doesn't work on my
new machine. Jaunty does work on my new machine but it is also in

A similar problem happens with other disks. For example: my StarCraft
CDs and any music CD.
Ubuntu tries to eject music CDs at various instances no matter which
program I use.
I need the Starcraft CDs in the drive in order to play the game but

Yes, Sébastien,but will it work ofter multiple bootups?
Mine worked at first but after a reboot it went back to the blank
screen. So the workaround isn't reliable and this package should have
it's importance put back to 'High' or at least 'Medium'.

problematic? Maybe that will explain why you compile 'works' but
kubuntux's does not (although the true transparency is good news).
I thought Tilda was only dependent on libconfuse (which was pretty much
an independent library).
It was a joke.
All I'm saying is that Tilda is a very low-priority program and they are
more concerned with getting Gutsy finalized.
Hopefully the change will be made soon. I've already noticed a few non-
essential programs I've submitted bug reports to have been fixed.

I'm sure this is a matter of poorly edited config files.
When Ubuntu dropped Enlightenment Sound there were lots of holes left
over and this is one of them.
Has the GDM sound been fixed yet? That should be an easy fix since the
only issue was that the sound file wasn't selected.

An update that killed the system font display in gnome-terminal a while
back also killed Tilda's font display.
I used to have it start at boot but when I do the drop-down either looks
completely black with no prompt or the same colour as my panels
I hope the ubuntu4 upgrade wasn't made to fix this issue because it

Binary package hint: gnome-session
For some reason the startup and shutdown sounds do not play even though
they are enabled in SystemPreferencesSound
Also the feisty-session-splashes are not showing and haven't been for a
while. I could care less since I have always found
Sebastien, please read more carefully. I very clearly mentioned that I
tryed autoremove.

gnome-cards-data isn't listed in the gnome-games package as a
dependency. Should it be?
It is listed in gnome-games-data as a dependency and installs it if you
are installing gnome-games, however it doesn't get automatically removed
or autoremoved when gnome-games-data is uninstalled.
Weird.
