I updated the keyboard and mouse configuration to "Enabled" in the BIOS
as opposed to the default "Auto". Results looked promising with 4
restarts but then touchpad failed on the fifth.
I restarted again and it's working. The random pattern of the issue is

Do not worry @Ian Hand. But as an important fact and for the record in
this post, comment on what I said earlier, with Windows the touchpad
works, in case someone is interested in having it present to try to give
a solution. I know that there are many of us affected by this problem,
even if they
@Califa101, I can also confirm that my BIOS is from 2019.
I do not have a partition set up on my laptop, I completely removed
Windows from it when installing Ubuntu, so unfortunately I will not be
able to test this.

I would also like to add that my BIOS is from the year 2019, so I do not think
it is outdated. My BIOS is as follows: APTIO SETUP UTILITY 2.20.1270.
I have also enabled the TOUCHPAD option in the BIOS which was disabled
(attachment). And the TOUCHPAD still doesn't work on (K) Ubuntu. I suppose
@Califa101, I raised a ticket on 26/06/2020 with Chuwi to obtain an
update for my BIOS, I haven't received a reply yet so I am not sure if
this is something that Chuwi will issue us with or if it will actually
solve the problem.

Hi. I have the same problem as this user and I would like to know if it
has been solved. I have to add that I don't know why it doesn't give an
error in Windows, but it does with Ubuntu, in my case, Kubuntu.

It's not. They're for turning on debug messages only. You might still
need BIOS update if possible.

I appended the kernel boot parameters and touchpad is working again,
hopefully that was the solution.
