for one don't think it would be meaningful to backport the
addition to Trusty and Precise, since I doubt you have enough resources
to translate the already released versions retroactively. Better to
focus on future releases IMO.

Possibly an effort to make Ubuntu relevant to Vanuatu users would better
start with making sure that a font (for proper rendering of web

In those cases syntax checks are carried out at build time when
the .po files are applied, and translations which fail such checks are
ignored. I suppose that something similar can be done for the snapcraft

No, the translation infrastructure of Ubuntu does not allow for such an
arrangement. The original language is English, and all translations are
based on English directly.

Indeed, and in any case trying to get a new locale accepted by glibc
should always be step #1. Patching locales in Debian and/or Ubuntu
should be a last resort.

None of those packages is dealt with in the desktop guide AFAIK, so I
don't see a problem. Made notes on the bug reports.
