Sometimes I have trouble with mixing .
Can depend on how it's started and by which user and possibly also where
it is installed ? it sometimes grabs default and the sound card is not
available for the desktop .
Having the desktop user start it a login is however unproblematic i

Runng with -d all=debug rigth now all keep a terminal open a while and
see if it happens it took about 30 minutes for it to happen
I provoked it by switching betwenn albums and when I changed to an album
with a different sample rate it got it to 100% cpu 24/48 k
But I have tried several 96k albums and switcjed between 44.1 etc
without this happening ?

I can not confirm but afaik LMS is not tested beyond perl 5.14 I think
even 5.14.2 is a problem .

If you have your playlist directory on th external drive it should be
writeable to (otherwise you cant save playlists )
If it is a USB drive don't automount edit fstab to get it mounted that
way with the correct permissions

Even if I have 2 drives in my server they are mounted in the share so
when acessing the server via SMB from other computers they appear as
one drive where one of the sub-folders in reality is the other drive,
but you never notice .

MY 9 to 10 uppgrade was interesting with among other things loss of all
audio and bizarr grub problems :) Oh and cairo docks could get you
complete freezez with grapchics acceleration (no input worked just had
to pull the plug).

You may have given the rigth permission to the mount piont, but did not
do it for files and folders.
is the music disc mounted all the time via fstab at boot, not mounted
afterwards by a user, after sbs has started ?
is it an ntfs disc or a native linux one.

Try installing the 7.5.3 some rpm based systems does not like 7.5.2
newest SUSE for example .

Repo is temporarily out of order so be patient until it comes back :)
it will be an rpm there eventually.
