Re: [SOGo] appointments, TRANSP:OPAQUE or TRANSPARENT

2015-11-26 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi Francis,

They were created using (older versions of) thunderbird and the inverse
SOGo plugins.

We see NOW that creating an appointment (thunderbird, lightning caldav)
in week view, by double cicking the smaller area between to date and the
times of the day, creates a non-blocking ("show time as free") appointment.

Creating an appointment by doubleclicking on a specific time creates a
blocking (show time as busy) appointment.

We did not know (and expect) this, but we understand this now.

Thank you,
MJ

This is control by the "Show Time as Free" checkbox of the

How your users create appointments? From the Web interface?

I found the original anouncement in the archives:

Hi,

I've just uploaded dovecot 2.1.17 to our repos for debian wheezy (both
amd64 and i386). I did this since the package shipped with wheezy
(2.1.7) contains a bug[1] in the handling of sieve commands that was
fixed upstream back in February 2013. Unfortunately, the commit never
found its way back to debian stable.

The package is essentially a rebuild of the package found in debian
jessie, no patch added.

If for some reason you don't want to use this package, you'll need to
manually exclude it.

Thanks.

The SOGo reply will look like:

 To: external_user, Sharon exter...@otherdomain.com
 From: internal_user, Marc inter...@ourdomain.com

And this causes the addresses to be SPLIT into:
To: external_user@MISSING_DOMAIN, Sharon exter...@otherdomain.com
From: internal_user@MISSING_DOMAIN, Marc inter...@ourdomain.com

which is obviously very wrong.

The @MISSING_DOMAIN in then replaced with @ourdomain.com (I guess by
postfix or so) resulting in an address that doesn't exist.
(external_u...@ourdomain.com)

It seems to me that SOGo should KEEP the around the reply-to address..?

This is latest sogo on debian wheezy.

Since we are seeing it since april, I'm guessing either we did a config
change causing this, or a 'recent' sogo update caused this new behaviour.

Anyone an idea?

Re: [SOGo] disable auto-complete for certain external ldap address books

2015-02-27 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi Christian,

If it is an address book in SOGo, then it is used for auto completion.

It is easy to speed up an LDAP. Just give it more memory.
We have our openLDAP servers set up, so that they run their complete
database in memory (~18000 accounts).
Ok, clear. However, the ldap is an external AD server, with *many*
records. (I guess 20.000 or so)

Looking up a single email address (over port 3268) works *instantly*,
but the ldap query that is generated by SOGo webaccess takes 5 to 8
seconds to complete.

Searching the archives here, I guess the actual query will look
something like

ldapsearch -x -LLL -P 3 -h a.b.c.d:3268 -D CN=login,DC=Company,DC=COM
-W -b DC=company,DC=com -s sub
(|(sn=heupink*)(displayName=heupink*)(telephoneNumber=heupink*)(mail=heupink*)(cn=heupink*))
cn userprincipalname mail sn manager sAMAccountName

And testing this on cli, confirms that this takes 5 to 8 seconds to
complete.

This takes too log to be practical.

Then perhaps... is there a way to *adjust* the outgoing query for this
particular ldap usersource to make it quicker?

Or... do you guys here have some tips (adding some indexes perhaps?)
that I could request to the admins on the external AD side, to make our
SOGo query complete faster?

Thanks!

So, the question is not the antivirus and antispam for SOGo. The question is

Is it true..?

Say you have these five mails and you set the limit to 512KB:

 1. 250 KB

 5. 10 KB

Sync iteration no. 1 will pick 1, 2 and 3. Sync iteration will pick 4.
Sync iteration will pick no. 5.

Is it just for calendar/task items?

For mails, events, tasks and contacts.

A good number of improvements have landed.

The memory usage during the initial sync process has been reduced by a

The memory usage after the initial sync, so on a day-to-day usage basis
is about 30 to 50 MB of memory per EAS client.

Re: [SOGo] Updated packages/documentation

2014-11-21 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi Ludo,

A question on the (great!) updated docs:

In the Configuration chapter, the part about samba configuration:

Samba 4 Configuration. Run the following commands as root: samba-tool
domain provision...

Just so I understand: those commands are not needed when you have joined
your SOGo server as an additional DC, right? Because provisioning a
added DC sounds a bit strange to me..?

Perhaps the doc could make that a bit clearer?

I would expect all data to be replicated from the other domain
controllers, and that would be the end of the samba configuration?

Testing would be appreciated - just don't forget to use the nightly

Debian Wheezy, Ubuntu Precise and Trusty work well. CentOS 6 x86_64 has
an issue that should be resolved tomorrow. This is probably the last
remaining issue before v2.2.10 is out, with a new ZEG based on Trusty.
Debian-based distributions won't have OCSManager/RPC Proxy support in
v2.2.10 but hopefully that will be resolved days after it's released.

Here is the list of changes in v2.2.10:

But we ARE expected to make changes to smb.conf like:

dcerpc_mapiproxy:interfaces = exchange_emsmdb, exchange_nsp, exchange_ds_rfr

Of course not. Joining samba4 as additional DC replaces provisioning step and
domain data is replicated from Windows server.

More interesting question would be if it is still required to join openchange
server as additional DC. I seem to remember on openchange 2.2 roadmap (before
the release) there was a plan that openchange server running samba4 would be
enough to join as domain member server, not additional DC.

Was this achieved? (never got to running the tests myself)

The current SOGo web gui misses this, and we received some questions

Good idea. INBOX could be a source of inspiration but it has just been

[SOGo] unable to add attachment to any reply, compose new works

2014-06-12 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi,

We're seeing this since 2.2.5: we are unable to add attachments to a
reply in /SOGo. Attachments only work with _new_ emails.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Symptoms:

- click reply to answer an email
- click attach button
- select a file
- watch the hourglass as it uploads
however, then:
- attachment stays greyed out (no blue underline appears)
- no cross to remove the attachment (the icon remains a blank circle)

Again: compose a new email, and everything works as expected.

In the logs we don't see anything out of the ordinary. Tried windows
linux mint, firefox chromium.

Is this something known to anyone here?

Hi,

I have read the thread, but I'm not sure we are talking about the same?
And anyway: it seems your problem was fixed in 2.2.5, which we are
running...

Let me rephrase very simple:

- composing a new mail - adding an attachment works
- answering an email - adding an attachment does NOT work

No interesting stuff in the logs, tried on various browsers / os-es.

The problem in the second case is: the attachment uploads, but does not
become 'blue underlined' plus it's icon stays a white circle. So also
removing the attachment isn't working.

Anyone else seeing this behaviour?

[SOGo] appointment day too early in /SOGo?

Appointment raw source:

Re: [SOGo] Question re: SOGo URLs and DNS settings

As far as I know, these things cannot be changed.

However, just wodering, perhaps it could be an idea to load the entire
url https://webmail.example.com/SOGo/ in a frame on
https://webmail.example.com?

We are using a redirect on https://webmail.example.com, to redirect to
/SOGo automatically.

For the card/caldav there are no options, as far as I know. And in fact
I don't think SOGo/dav/username is your biggest problem. As soon as you
create your own shared calendars, their url becomes something like
/SOGo/dav/username/Calendar/595B-51C05100-FB-67505B80

I would really like to be able to adjust at least those numbers to
something relevant, like /SOGo/dav/username/Calendar/room5

Perhaps it is an idea to file an enhancement request?

To get this far, I had to add ulimit -n 65536 to /etc/init.d/sogo.

The question really is: The level of development on ActiveSync seems
pretty high now, so should I just wait for 2.2.4 and find many of the

This debian wheezy, sogo 2.1.1b, dovecot 2.1.17 using Mailbox storage.

[SOGo] sogo apt repository breaking sssd on wheezy (libldb1)

2014-01-23 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi all,

On a test machine I'm running wheezy with samba4/sssd. I wanted to test
SOGo authentication etc, so i added the regular sogo repository.

Then (without yet installing sogo) I do apt-get update apt-get
upgrade, and:

root@debian72:/var/www# apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages will be upgraded:
  libldb1 libtevent0
2 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 167 kB of archives.

If I run these two updates, I end up with a newer version of libldb1
(1:1.1.13-1 vs 1:1.1.6-1) which basically breaks the stock sssd:

root@debian72:/etc# /etc/init.d/sssd restart
ldb: module version mismatch in ../src/ldb_modules/memberof.c :
ldb_version=1.1.13 module_version=1.1.6
ldb: failed to initialise module
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ldb/modules/ldb/memberof.so : Unavailable

[FAIL] Starting System Security Services Daemon: sssd failed!
root@debian72:/etc#

So I don't know if this is a bug that should be added to bugzilla (let
me know if I should do this) but I'm sending this here mainly as a
heads-up to all of you.

MJ

Re: [SOGo] Easy OpenChange/Samba deployment with Zentyal

2014-01-13 Thread mourik jan heupink

Just out of curiosity:

I have downloaded and installed the community edition of Zentyal.
However it seems to come with zarafa instead of SOGo...?

Does this message belong on the SOGo list..? Perhaps I am missing some
obvious way to make it use sogo instead of zarafa?

Good evening,

Zentyal SL. Zentyal is a Linux server that offers an easy-to-use native

provide improved OpenChange-SOGo integration, I was invited to send this
email to give you a status update of the project.

As of today, if you wanted to deploy SOGo-OpenChange-Samba4 combination,
you had the opportunity to either follow tutorials, execute scripts or
run virtual machines. All these efforts are immensely useful and I am
delighted to see this work being taken over by the community and
actively maintained. I have however always been convinced of the
necessity for OpenChange to provide a frontend UI to its users in order
to ease the global deployment. This is exactly what Zentyal is
providing.

In December 2013, OpenChange was officially launched into Zentyal Server
3.3 and we are really getting to the point where your can deploy the
full solution in a matter of minutes (e.g. OpenChange, Samba4, SOGo,
Dovecot, Postfix).

We, not only, integrate technology but contribute actively. Among last
months, we have introduced or are working on new features in OpenChange
such as:
 - Multi-Language support for mailboxes (WIP)
 - Out Of Office support (WIP)
 - Virtual domain hosting
 - Provision and deployment as an additional Microsoft Exchange
 Server in your organization
 - Roundcube webmail interface with PHP MAPI bindings support
 - Easy reporting powered by Ubuntu apport
 - RPC over HTTP client side implementation in Samba4

Feature integration will progressively enter OpenChange master
repository within next months.

Last but not least, we are also actively working on quality assurance
and automatic deployment and test cases scenarios with all Microsoft
Outlook versions and Zentyal server.

We would like to invite you to test the latest Zentyal Server edition

Hi all

We recently improved how to upload attachments to an email message in the
Webmail module of SOGo.

  - the list of attachments is now displayed under the mail headers;
  - upload starts immediately and shows a progress indicator;
  - you can attach multiple attachments at the same time;
  - you can drag and drop your files from your desktop to the mail editor
window (IE requires version 10 or 11);
  - you can now view/download the attachments of your draft from the mail
editor.

Also, when viewing a message, there’s now a list of all mail attachments and an
option to download all the files.

Our demo instance is running the latest code, so you can try it now :

Re: [SOGo] SOGo

User logged in SOGo WebUI, but not have XMPP client running.
The XMPP client would be embedded in the SOGo browser window, so the
XMPP client would always run.

Scenario 2:
User uses Thunderbird for mail, and never logged in SOGo WebUI.
Then they would not appear in the currently online in the SOGo
webaccess window. True.

Scenario 3:
User just logged in to SOGo WebUI _during_ an XMPP conversation.

Ok, I'm not an XMPP expert, but I don't see a problem with that.

Believe me, you don't want to handle these situations.

Ok, it was just an idea that popped in my mind, I'm not a programmer :-)

Why?
Well, wouldn't it be nice to have a chat-component within the SOGo web
access, where people appear 'online' while they are logged in the web
access?

Lot of clients exist for every systems (win/linux/osx/android/bb/ios/etc.).
I read the OpenFire webpage, yes. But I think it would be nice to
automatically appear in a chat-window (or opt-out, opt-in, whatever)
within the sogo web access once you are in the SOGo.

Because two folks told you they like the doc how it is while you said
yourself two times it was horrid and you're ready to drop the ball? I
appreciate the comments you provided, but if you voice your opinion, be
ready to accept what others tell you.

Yes!

I can only say that the docs were very helpful to me. Sure, nothing is
perfect, but I completely disagree with almost all your suggestions to
improve the documents.

We are have been running SOGo in production for a few months now, and
even though we had some (minor) problems, most of those had nothing to
do with the documentation. There is much knowledge and specific
information in this list and it's archives. No need to duplicate those
in the docs.

In fact: most of your 'improvements' sound to me like duplicating
information that can easily be found someplace else.

In fact: (using your terminology) The 'high-end' people will either know
what everything means, or know where to find that out themselves. And
low-end people will never read a 200 page document just to install SOGo.

So sure: all docs can always be improved, including SOGo's, but I almost
completely disagree with your suggestions how to do so.

[SOGo] Re: libkcal 4.3 vs all others

2013-05-03 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi,

Interesting new discoveries:

- Importing a file.ics (with 1500 appointments) via the SOGo web access
generates mysql c_names WITHOUT an .ics extension, which do NOT show up
in Kontact and Korganizer.

- Importing file.ics via thunderbird/lightning generates mysql c_names
WITH an .ics extension, which DO show up in Kontact and Korganiser.

I guess this can be considered something that is 'broken' in SOGo? At
least there appears to be room for improvement..? Should I file a bug
about this?

Because Kontact/Korganizer and my Nokia N9 Meego both use libkcal 4.3, I
expected my imported appointments finally to show up on the N9 as well.
However... I was wrong... :-(

So again my question: Could anyone here who happens to own an N9 try to
import an ics file into sogo, and check if those imported appointments
show up on the N9 Calendar, using caldav?

MJ

On 05/02/2013 08:05 PM, mourik jan heupink wrote:

with Korganizer and my Nokia N9 harmattan. (both based on libkcal 4.3,
judging on the raw source from the appointments they create)

They both don't display any of the 1500 imported appointments in the
calendar, but adding items to the calendar works, and those new
appointments DO work on all clients.

I did not understand what was going on, but looking at the SOGo database
shows the following:

It looks as if all imported items (via the SOGo webinterace) have
c_names in the form of 4DE4-51781380-179-8C92BC0 and
9A5-517D4E00-11D5-12074FE0.
All 'handmade' appointments added later (via N9, Kontact, or SOGo web
access) seem to have c_names like
ebbbf942-0be8-49f8-9b57-feb303b767e1.ics and
2953-5166F580-5D-422BA600.ics so: with an extension.

So the missing extension seems to be the difference between 'handmade'
appointments and an imported .ics file. And I'm guessing now that
libkcal 4.3 needs the ics extension, and all others also read
appointments without the extension.

I'm no expert at all, but does this make any sense? Or am I talking
nonsense, and should I be looking somewhere else?

MJ

I'm no expert at all, but does this make any sense? Or am I talking
nonsense, and should I be looking somewhere else?

Re: [SOGo] Meego Caldav | '{DAV:}getlastmodified' has no matching SQL field

2013-04-25 Thread mourik jan heupink

Dear list, peter,

Things are still not 100% working, and I'm guessing now the problem lies
with the N9.

Syncing appointsments I manually made in thunderbird and the
webinterface show up on the N9. I can even edit them on the N9, and the
changes sync back. - Success.

Problem 1:
When creating an appointment on the N9, the start/end time shifts to 40
minutes later on thunderbird/webaccess, and the 'raw source' seems VERY
very complicated and wy to big for just a simple single appointment.
See: http://pastebin.com/VbVknuym
Note: this raw source is a simple, single appointment, simple and plain,
from 14:00 to 15:00, showing up as 14:40 to 15:40

Problem 2:
Imported ical calendars never show up on the N9, however thunderbird
web access show them fine.

The above makes me think that the problem is actually on the N9 (and the
libkcal 4.3 that it uses, gathered from the link above).

I realise this list is about SOGo and not about the N9, therefore my
question is: Are there other people here using the N9/Meego/Harmattan
with SOGo, and how are your experiences? Do you observe the same two
issues/problems or not?

Re: [SOGo] Meego Caldav | '{DAV:}getlastmodified' has no matching SQL field

2013-04-25 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi Christian, list,

This appointment is correct.

This is already nice to know, because I started to doubt everything. :-)

It also uses RDATE in the Timezone definition.
This is not jet supported by SOGo.
See Bug #2179
http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/bug_view_advanced_page.php?bug_id=2179
I should have searched the bugzilla, thanks for pointing that bug out.
This is also nice to know. :-)

But why don't you add this web calendar directly on the N9.
I took the caldav url directly from the webinterface. (Caldav URL from
'links to this calendar') I'm guessing that's what you mean?

I realise this list is about SOGo and not about the N9, therefore my
question is: Are there other people here using the N9/Meego/Harmattan
with SOGo, and how are your experiences? Do you observe the same two
issues/problems or not?

Sorry, don't have one :-)

I still hope that someone else responds who has one... :-)

As it stands now, the issue 2 (imported ics files not showing up on the
N9) is still unclear.

Thanks!

Re: [SOGo] Meego Caldav | '{DAV:}getlastmodified' has no matching SQL field

2013-04-24 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi Ludovic, Peter, list,

I have just installed the ZEG, and tried accessing shared calendars over
CalDAV: works fine. Meaning it must be something in my installation, or
in the particular calendar I'm trying to access that causes problems.

So the combo SOGo/CalDAV/N9 works good.

@Ludo: Would you still like me to do the steps outlined below, to get
rid of the '{DAV:}getlastmodified' has no matching SQL field
notification in the sogo.log?

Thanks for your input!

MJ

I suggest you put a breakpoint on _davSQLFieldsForProperties: and show
us a stacktrace of the end result.

Also, sniff using tcpflow when that happens (in/out communications on
port 20 000) and also send us the result the request that triggers the
breakpoint.

See
http://www.sogo.nu/english/nc/support/faq/article/how-do-i-debug-sogo.html
for debugging details.

Thanks,

Re: [SOGo] Meego Caldav | '{DAV:}getlastmodified' has no matching SQL field

2013-04-22 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi Peter, list,

Adding the calendar worked ok and I could get my Personal calendar
events to show in my N9 calendar. I did nothing special, just added the
account from N9 Accounts and used the CalDAV URL reported by the SOGo
Web UI for my Personal Calendar.

I have just tried with my personal calendar, and you are right: that one
works fine. Both ways. (url looks like
http://my.domain/SOGo/dav/username/Calendar/personal)

Could you try adding a shared calendar, to see if that works for you
too? The url (taken from the SOGo web UI) looks like:

http://my.domain/SOGo/dav/username/Calendar/C5A8F1D0-B160-0001-B7D6-1DC095B01274

(I did copy and paste, so the url is correct)

Curious. :-)

Hi all,

I'm trying to add a SOGo calendar to my Nokia N9 Meego 1.2 Harmattan
device, via it's native CalDAV support. But the calendar is not showing
up on my device.

Sogo.log tells me the following:

2013-04-21 20:09:05.921 sogod[2784] -[WEClientCapabilities
initWithRequest:]: Unknown WebClient: user-agent='Nokia-CalDav/1.0'

and, more interesting:

Tips..? Anyone using Meego / SOGo / Caldav combination?

[SOGo] event types in thunderbird | public, private confidential

2013-04-17 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi all,

The three available event categories are called public, private and
confidential. However, in thunderbird (with
lightning/connector/integrator) the 'confidential' event type is called
'show time and date only'.

Is this normal and expected? The web access calls it confidential, as
I would expect...

(searching the archives, and found an email from 2011 asking the same,
but no replies unfortunately...

Re: [SOGo] a way to reload configuration?

Some changes are picked up on the fly, but others are not.

For those not picked up on the fly, you have to restart SOGo and memcached.

Thanks.

I ended up doing that, and while being in the webinterface I didn't
notice the restart at all. So service interruption is actually minimal.

[SOGo] a way to reload configuration?

2013-04-08 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi all,

We've been running SOGo for a few days, and today I've made some small
config changes in our /etc/sogo/sogo.conf on debian.

However, it seems these canges are not picked up 'on the fly', and
/etc/init.d/sogo reload doesn't work..? (only start|stop|restart|status)

So... Is there a 'nice' way to ask sogo to reload it's config file?
(nice as in: no user interrruption)

[SOGo] sogo-slapd-sockd still being maintained..?

2013-03-05 Thread mourik jan heupink

Hi,

I have recently discovered the sogo-slapd-sockd 'ldap interface' to
access personal contacts. However...there is not so much documentation
available...

Are people here using it? The limitations mentioned in 2010 by Wolfgang
Sourdeau still seem to apply:

- the utility must run under the same user as SOGo, so that it can
access its configuration values
Since sogo is now a system user, I have done chown sogo:sogo, with
setgid/setuid. That seems to work.

- because of this, the socket permissions need to be each time AFTER the
utility is launched (chmod 777 /var/run/sogo/sogo-sockd.sock does it, in
unsecured testing environments).

That still seems to be required.

- the utility does not behave like a daemon yet, therefore it won't
detach itself from the terminal automatically yet nor will it handle
multiple connections simultaneously.
Also no changes here, I guess..? Meaning this will not scale very well,
I guess?

Therefore: Is it still supported? Accessing SOGo personal contacts over
ldap seems like a very cool and valuable to us. Can we trust this
functionality to be maintained/improved..?
