That is exactly what I am saying. Once you upgrade that app if there is a
problem your screwed. So this is why I would set app updates to manual. Then
you have the control over what gets updated and when. No I am not saying don't
ever update them.

The icon for the App Store tells me I have 8 apps to update. I open the App
Store and select the updates tab. I press the button to update all apps. It
says that apps are downloading but they never get downloaded.

I thought I would mention this, as it has been happening more with my iPhone 4.
When I slide my finger on the home screen to locate the App Store app, it
states a much higher number of updates in the app store. The discrepency is
about 5-6 numbers off when I access the update tab
I have read of others on lis that say the difference in numbers may be
from some updates being for iOS 7 compatibility, and when you bring up
the updates tab, it sees that you don't run iOS 7. So as a result you
see a lower number. If true, I don't know if there is a good way to

first restarting the phone, connecting it to my PC, and opening iTunes. I
did not try to sync the phone. I waited about thirty seconds and
disconnected the phone. When I opened the app store on my phone
I got around the problem by doing the following:
1. From the update screen, chose purchased tab.
2. Chose all and went through all my purchases until I found one that said
