the XS Max. The battery size in the XS Max is 3,194 MAH.

I would agree. Plenty of budget and midrange Android phones still use
LCD. I think OLED is the superior technology though, but that doesn't
mean LCD is obsolete. I've read plenty of reviews recently where side by

contrast, but
I don't think that LCD is obsolete technology quite yet, it may not be used for
smartphones that much any more since OLED screens are theoretically more
efficient and all that, but if this is the case why is it that the iPhone XR
seems to have better battery life than the iPhone xS? OLED
yes. definitely up to you. I have the X and it only took me at least 10 minutes
to learn the gestures. But you can just get an iPhone 8.

I can see that. When my friend, in very poor health, got a 7 plus, I tried to
explain to her daughter, how for me, as an older blind person like her mom (my
best friend), a small screen was so much easier. Well, maybe it is for me, but
now I see, in helping her enter a new contact, she goes all
I agree, Davy. I don't have one yet, but am not thwarted by the idea. We can do
it! And isn't it good that phones are made where we can?

My reasons for continuing to use this iPhone 6 are different. When I got my 5,

I will continue to use this one as long as it will run, and Apple keeps
updating it, which in its own way, has hurt Apple sales. Why
The only reason I would upgrade is if I got touch id as an option,
other than that I am fine with using this 7plus until I can't anymore.
I would even grab an 8plus if I could find one on the cheap.

Hi Sieghard
Thats really right. I was in the same situation and replaced my battery a year
ago and now I have bought my xr but as you say with normal use I will confirm
that the 5s for a device of that time being, is just working great with
ios12.3, however my xr is much more faster but if I
Hi Davy,
I don’t quite agree, there are people who because of some reason cannot get the
gestures on the new X/XS/XR phones right. For them I think an iPhone 8 is a
great choice, it is a really good phone and still has a home button, also it is
much cheaper and will be probably even cheaper
I changed from a standard to a Plus phone when I got a 6 Plus. Yes, it's
a bigger phone if you have normal or small hands, takes some getting use
to, but the real big benefit for me was that increased screen
real-estate--more space between icons and other application controls,
and typing while
Learning curve? It's iOS. There is no learning curve. It just works! Oh
wait a minit, that's the other Steve Matzura talking, who has obviously

Seriously, if you can find an 8 or 8 Plus, I recommend those. They still
have a Home button, and don't

A good advise.
Why are so many blinds so anxious to move to the x series of the iphone?
It has been 5 years now that I have bought my humble 5s even not knowing what a
touch screen was. A month later I found myself to be an intermediate voiceover
user and now I am advanced.
So please
Hi Bill,
Do you use the camera? I am surprised you say you can use your iPhone 6 case
because on the iPhone 8 the camera lens was moved slightly and my 6S case
partially covered it so I had to get a new case.

Apart from not having the new features of iOS 13 you can continue to happily
use the iPhone 5S with iOS 12 for another year or two. If you got your iPhone
5S in 2013 then it will be 6 years old this fall, if you can use it for another
year you would have definitely gotten your money’s worth and
For what it's worth, a Plus model phone is bigger, but it also comes
with a longer lasting battery. It does come down to personal choice. I
have bigger hands and have gotten used to the Plus sized phones, but
to each their own. I would encourage you to look at a plus size phone

Josh,
I recently acquired an iPhone 8 and I’m extremely satisfied with it. It is
about the same size as my iPhone 6 - to the point that I would be able to use
the leather case now holding my 6 although the hole for the headphone jack
would not serve any purpose.

the + phones, are way to big for me. I am happy with the iPhone 8.
But it's down to personal choice.

Does this mean that I will have to ditch my 5S? If so, what would you advise

I’d go with at least a 7 or 8. If you got an SE, it’d only update the iOS until
July/August of next year. Good luck!

The plus size phones are nicer to me anyways. That's the only reason I
started using IOS in 2015.

Richard, I'm curious, why would you go for an 8 plus over an 8. I've
seen a plus phone of some kind and I thought it was huge.

Jewel,
If you find this Fall that you really want to upgrade to have iOS 13, then I'd
consider the 8 plus.
It still has the home button; and while larger, has great battery life, and
should last through a few more iOS versions.
It does not have the 3.5 MM earphone jack; but nothing after the SE
Not necessarily. It’s not like a 5S will just stop working or at least stop
working with apps right away. Like with prior iOS upgrades, apps will probably
drop support for older OS’s as time goes by and even then, it’ll likely be a
while before you begin to notice it to where you’ll feel the
Does this mean that I will have to ditch my 5S? If so, what would you advise
as a replacement, with as small a new learning curve as possible, please:
pretty please!
