While watching the episode of Perry Mason this morning on MeTV, I had multiple
TAGS sightings. First there was Orville Monroe, then Mary Simpson, and
finally there was Isabel Randolph, who played Mrs. Jefferies and Mrs. Bixby in

the essay contest; I used to think he was the school principal but have

On today's Superman episodes on MeTV our Mayor Pike appeared in the first
episode as a pro-wrestling manager or similar role. In the second episode
Mayberry itself appeared as a small town with many suspicious
disappearances. There was a nice shot of the courthouse in one scene.
Watching The O'Reiley Factor Wednesday night on Fox News.In the segment
with Dennis Miller, Dennis was talking about all the security breeches (or is
it breaches) at the White House. Dennis remarked to Bill They have a

Spotted Ken Lynch this afternoon on Gunsmoke. He was a mean farmer who
wound up getting killed. Ken Lynch played Captain Barker in the second
episode of TAGS.I guess Ken Lynch has the distinction of being the first of

Last night I was listening to an old time radio show, The Great
Gildersleeve. It was the episode of 18 October 1942, where Gildersleeve is

In 1939's Another Thin Man, I saw our beloved producer, Sheldon Leonard,
in one of his screen roles. Also in the movie is our little fat mayor, Dick

I had an unusual alumni sighting tonight. While watching the World War II
movie The Young Lions on TCM, I caught Mayor Stoner playing a Nazi Sergeant.
A Nazi Sergeant, what would Andy say? This movie was made 2 years before
TAGS began, but I kept saying to myself That's Stoner, S-t-o
I saw on Star Trek last night, Pamelyn Ferdin, in the episode And the Children
Shall Lead. Ferdin played the crying little kid Corlis in a TAGS episode.
And yes, she also cried in the Star Trek episode as the character Mary.
I saw earlier this morning a 1959 Twilight Zone episode (Walking Distance)
that had a very young Ron Howard in it. He is seen playing marbles along a
small town street curb, when the lead actor (Gig Young) walks up to him and
they start to converse. Great episode involving going back into
Otis' brother was on Mr. Ed.

Watching some old TV this morning. Saw Herb Vigran, our Bookie Barber, as a
cop on Ozzie and Harriet. Then saw The Green Hornet driving around
Mayberry. Good shots of the church, the post office, the bank, the hotel
and, of course, the court house. Given the way he was driving, I'm

Watching Mary Poppins today and, of course, spotted Reta Shaw (Eleanora

The other day I saw on an Animaniacs cartoon episode (HUB channel), an animated
depiction of one of Mayberry's own leading citizens!The Animaniacs in Boot
Camping end up in boot camp instead of summer camp. Wakko is at the barber

episode of the original series. His daughter, Sport, was played by Mary

I just saw Anita Courset on an episode of Bonanza on TVLand where she played
the daughter of an orthodox jew. She showed quite a range of talent and

movies I enjoyed when I was his age. The other day we watched Airplane! (1980)

While channel surfing this morning, I stumbled across a Lassie episode from
1960. I noticed two actors that appeared familiar, and upon further
investigation, only one turned out to be a TAGS alumni from what I could tell.
It was Phil Chambers, who played Jason the hotel clerk. He was a
Barbara Eden was on I Love Lucy this morning. Filmed in 1957, Barbara would

Caught a Twilight Zone with Jim Lindsey in it. James Best was in 3 TZ episodes
and I had never seen this one. Edgar Buchanan (Henry Wheeler) was also in the
cast.

Well, this was an unusual sighting. On TMC, I was watching a 1942 war
propaganda short called Men of the Sky and who do I spot but Inspector Case.
Tod Andrews played that part in The Inspector. But this short didn't have a
Tod Andrews in it. Turns out that, until 1944, Tod used the screen
Watching a Twilight Zone this morning and there's Ed Andrews (Professor Hubert
St. John). Ed was a prolific actor with a long, long list of appearances. My
wife had a boss early on that actually was a friend of Ed's.
