Ted,
Thanks for the suggestion. Looking at it though - it doesn't really save
any code, and I can't really see how using a definition list is any more
semantic than using div tags. I'm not trying to discredit your suggestion,

Marc,
Thanks for the input. Given that you don't think a dl is appropriate, nor a
div (from what I gathered), what would you suggest?
Thanks!

Mordechai,
Thanks for your input. I'm curious about why the picture of Gina would be
unassociated data in his case, but the project/product pictures would be in
my case.
Thanks!
I'm rather new at the whole xhtml/css/semantic markup game so I'm trying to
pick the brains of those that have

me to transfer theoretical knowledge to practical application.

In no way did I think Mordechai was suggesting an ignoring an IE, but was
asking why style to IE specifically, and I was just giving the rationale for
doing so.

Why serve any junk at all? It is entirely possible to create fully
standards compliant, visually striking pages without using hacks, extra
scripting or any other sort of method. Csszengarden is the only example you
need of that.

Julia,
Thanks for the input - I've now become a dot com though (collind.com), and
am moving everything over to there, and I'm thinking now about completely
redoing the design. I'll keep in mind the text size issues you mentioned.
Thanks again!

do this. Also, lists are just easier for me to use than tables, and tables
create more code weight than do lists. Anybody have thoughts on this?

there's justification for using tables when they create more
code weight than lists, and don't really show the association between the
picture and the description/link/information/etc. the same way lists
(whether ordered, unordered or definition) do.
