Re: [Zen] ROLL CALL

2009-01-23 Thread Mayka
Hi Chris again,

It feels good to post and having a feedback from posting. Do you think
that apart from the practice what we most need is having the warm of
human contact?. What do we do with our practice without the practice
of natural spontaneous human warm coming from the heart?.

I´m still in Spain at present dealing with multi issues in connection
with health, financial, sentimental...Life is pretty intense right
now. And yet I don´t feel like it to go to any of that meditation
centers where the talk of the last "enlightenment arrivals" giving
endless instructions to endless arrivals beginers seem to be longer
than the silence of sitting down...

I feel a lot of more release now by practicing alone and writing to
this group. There is something about the different participants in
these group that helps me to connect better with other human fellows
and the practice without practice.

I´m happy to hear that you are going back to the zen center. I´d like
to hear your experience over there. I haven´t been in my Edinburgh
sangha for very long, though there are some members who keep
occassionaly in touch trough email.

I´m writing to you with laptop from my fiance. I´m sitting by the
Mediterranean sea. Everything is calm. There is a little breeze and
a pale sunshine reflecting over the waves. I send you and all of you
this moment so fresh and so invigorating.

With open heart your hearts in my heart
Mayka

Mayka,

I appreciate your understanding on this. I agree, I have experienced
the ability to remain detatched from other's perspectives, no matter
how negative. The longer I have stayed away from my practice, the
more I found that "little" things can bother me. I am happy to say I
have resumed my practice and it is going well. I have started re-
visiting the temple I sent you info on in the past.

Thank you for your participation.

Hi chris!,

If you work in a team or for a company, if you go to collegeYou´ll
always find that there is somebody, someone, a percentage you don´t
get on or you disagree or you don´t like it...
This may happens even in the best families there is always someone
willing to create annoyance to everyone else. Dialogue not always work
with some people in that case the best is to let it go. The trick
here is no to take it as personal. In the internet this is not as
difficult to put into practice since you can spam or put in the thrash
mail you don´t wish to receive it. But in real life that is a little
more difficult since we can´t throw to the bin our boss. In that case
the practice becames handy. The practice of not taking anything as
personal. The continuos concentration of focusing the mind in the
present moment helped with the awareness of the in an out breathing
can slowly slowly have some surprising results.

Not that I have achieved much control over myself emotions yet but i´m
in the way. Each sceneary that appears in daily basis becames the
playing ground . I don´t get attached to the result of this practice.
what i mean is that if i loose control over my emotions i acknowledge
it and keep trying again and again and again. Not to take anything as
personal and complete disattachment to the results of the practice is
a joyful way of practicing.

Thanks for writing and your very kind words.

I think that is pretty gay. You might as well change your name to
Gaylord or Gaywad.

The idea that you need some fucking cocksucker to lead you anywhere
is fucking lame-O. Get a grip on your life and fuck it up yourself
and then work your way out of your mistakes by learning from those
that God puts in your path.

If that means going to a Buddhist Temple or a mental asylum, so be
it. But even if some smirking asshole sensei gives you a certificate
that says you are enlightened, you can wipe your ass with that unless
you feel it and earned it and do something with it. Maybe that means
that you become a teacher, or maybe that means that you get a fucking
job and enjoy whatever you are doing and put your guts and your soul
into that.

Do something meaningful with your life, like helping others,
supporting your family members, charities, etc. Be a person who
gives, not some lamedick gimp asking for charity so that you can sit
on your ass and wonder what life means.

Good luck to you and man-up, bitch.

Re: [Zen] ROLL CALL

2009-01-20 Thread cid830
Mayka,

Very good post! Especially the part about being defensive and how we
can judge our reactions as a medium of our practice. The less we
practice, the more subject we are to our emotions!

My problem here (along with my lack of practice!) has been a lack of
respect. 98% of us can have discourse, agreeing or dis-agreeing in
what each of us may post. But there is always that 2% that show a
lack of respect for others. It is an insight into one's nature, as
well as a product of one's upbringing. If one has not learned to
deal with others respectfully by the age of adulthood, they probably
never will.

Thank you Mayka, Bill!, Mike, Anthony, Jody, JMJM and Edgar, (among
others) who have shown your respect in the face of disagreement and
ignorance. And to the 2%, I hope you at least find peace within.

RESPECTFULLY,

Chris

Re: [Zen] ROLL CALL

2009-01-20 Thread Mayka
Al,

I see no wrong of posting what is in your mind, what are you feeling
or what is really in you...In fact one of the things I like the most
on this website is precisely that we talk about what is really in us.
Don´t worry about it. However, it´s perhaps important to be aware of
the effect words can have in the mind of the readers. Let´s not
forget that it is not the same to be face to face than to be in a
website where we don´t have a face to face direct contact and
therefore words are opened to multi interpretation depending upon our
own mental state at the time of receiving them.

Words carry in them energy positive or negative. Only one word can
heal or destroy. They have an equal impact from the one who express
them as to the whole universe. Our mental state determine our way of
expressing oneselves. Before any word comes out of our lips, there
is a thought. Before a thought takes form there is a mental state. A
sensation, an emotion, a mental formation...

As an strongly emotional person I am, the internet is often a
challenge to tame myself emotions. I used to be very defensive, still
am, when somebody said something I didn´t like it. But slowly slowly
I take the internet and groups as a medium of practice. It doesn´t
mean that everyone else has to do the same. It helps me to
acknowledge in a deeper way what is in me.

Your choose to shot straight away what are you thinking or feeling.
There is nothing wrong with that either if you feel the need of doing
so. For instance I can see through your question of asking me if I
was menstruating that you were annoyed with post and also that you
genuinely was wondering if my post was motivated by the mental state
produced by the crazy hormonal disturbancies, we women have once a
month. Nothing wrong to ask that for as long as your thoughts were
genuine at the time of the question and not deffensive.

Am I making any sense to you or am I losing myself in too many words?.
Whatever it is here it goes carrying good intentions and gratitude for
your website.

Have a good day
Mayka

Al,

I hope you run this zen group well. It is getting popular. Sometimes a little
venomous remarks help, sometimes we need less of it.

As regards my technique, there are of course a lot of defects. That is why I am
thinking about joining a Tantric group with some sex rituals, or a cult leader

I am the moderator of 50 groups. I was invited by Yahoo to a group
called Powerusers which Yahoo runs. It is for people that moderate
groups totalling 25K or more. It is not like Yahoo sent me a gift

I am very surprised at how anal-retentive you folks are. You really

Al,

This is not way to talk to people particularly if you are the
moderator of spiritual or religious group from whatever tradition that
group is. This way of doing is harmful to yourself and everyone else.
This persistent way of acting destroys all the freedom and goodness
of the group. I don't understand why you´re doing this. On one hand
this group is one of the fewers internet groups in the zen category
which people have the freedom to express themselves as they are.
Instead of destroying or attacking the good will of the people here
you should be proud of moderating a group of such freedom of speech.

In this group There is no the opportunist pretentious arrogant
westerner Zen Teacher pretending an enlightenment with borrowed dharma
words from original and genuine Teachers. Making pass the insight and
experience of genuine practicioners as their own... and so on and so
on. But we are here in this marvellous group, as Chris pointed out
once, talking to each others, learning, sharing experiences,
communicating, keeping the beauty, truth and goodness in all of us
alive...It is not this a real miracle by itself?

We are people from all backgrounds and spiritual traditions who gather
together to warm up our own solitude. With all the many fakes going
around this group is a real treasure because we are what we are free
from pretention. None of us pretends to be an enlightened person.
None of us knows more than anyone else in the group. Each of us have
something to give and something to learn from each of the members.

Don´t destroy your own work here. Instead of that be good and start
to fix the mail problem Bill is being having for very long.

Thank you all
Mayka

I am the moderator of 50 groups. I was invited by Yahoo to a group
called Powerusers which Yahoo runs. It is for people that moderate
groups totalling 25K or more. It is not like Yahoo sent me a gift
certificate. They just send "powerusers" emails with suggestions about
running the groups.

I am very surprised at how anal-retentive you folks are. You really
need to sit your ass on the pillow and clench tighter, as there is
