I just wanted to write and relate my experience with using the silver. Since about 18 years ago, I have suffered 2-3 times per year with strep throat. I could usually feel it coming on and would then know that for about the next 2-3 weeks I would be MISERABLE. Usually the morning after the first symptoms was the worst. Waking up and taking that first conscious swallow, I would feel the PAIN. I remember not being able to enjoy eating ice cream. Now, that is misery! My most memorable bout was in March 1989, on my departure date for a university trip to Siberia. I was of course very concerned about the prospect of not being able to go on the trip, but more so about getting over to Irkutsk in -30 C and getting worse! I managed to get in to see an Austin, TX ENT doc on short notice just hours before takeoff, and I recall that he prescribed penicillin. I'm not sure the pen helped--as I never have been sure--but I did survive the trip and had a great time. I do remember the LAST time I had strep, about two years ago. I spent two hours waiting in the emergency room at the hospital where I worked, saw a young doc for about five minutes & picked up some ATBX from the RX... $140 I seem to recall. Three-four weeks later, I still had a sore throat and was busy blowing the green stuff out my nose (sorry for the details). Point being, the "traditional" route has been no better than about 50/50 for me, and somewhat expensive. Also, working in a hospital lab, and entering sick patients' rooms all day to draw specimens, I was really exposed. I no longer work in a hospital, but I cannot imagine doing so and NOT taking the silver. I have heard it described as a "second immune system", and now I believe it. I cannot claim any exotic disease, but I also cannot under- state the value of the silver in terms of NO SICK DAYS in the past TWO YEARS! > Do I give a rats rumper crack as to why? Not! The beauty of wholistic > medicine > is that which works, works. Precisely! Now I ENJOY hearing friends/co-workers say "I have a sore throat" because it gives me a chance to tell MY STORY. Happened just the other day. I remember my skepticism upon first hearing about ingesting silver, and I still sometimes get that reaction, but for the most part my friends have been quite polite. Still, they seem to have to get through several weeks of ATBX with little or no results before they are really ready to DO SOMETHING--which is my story exactly, so why should I get upset when someone makes a wise crack or fails to gain any value from my story? We do need to be PATIENT with our friends. It could take months or even years, but we should not stop TELLING OUR STORIES. Also, I have learned about supplementing with a good seven-strain acidophilus when using any antibiotic--even a natural one, like silver. I haven't read much about that on this list--you are all doing that, right? Kirk
