I checked Beyond-A- Century and I was not impressed with their product list
nor their mailing costs. Their standard mailing is more than VitaCost and
iHerb. iherb gives you a choice of mailing costs. I happen to like iHerb.
If you are wondering about ascorbic acid you could read Linus Pauling's
books: "Vitamin C and the Common Cold" and/or "How to Live Longer and Feel
Better". Linus Pauling was a distinguished scientist and Nobel Prize
winner who revolutionized thinking about vitamins with his bestselling
books. "How to Live Longer and Feel Better" was on the New York Times Best
Seller list.
Dr. Pauling was a nice man and he put of with a lot of guff and harrassment
from the government. Read all about it in his books and learn the truth
about vitamin C.
Humans have lost the ability to manufacture vitamin C in their bodies so it
has to be supplemented in the diet and with supplements. He recommends a
regimen for better health. Not everyone can take 6 grams of C a day, so one
takes as much as one can within one's bowel tolerance, or without getting
diarrhea (which is the ONLY side-effect of too much vitamin C).
In the 1980's Dr. Pauling remarked that the medical profession and the
powerful medical institutions and enterprises in this country have taken to
calling themselves the health profession, health centers, and health
companies, and that this is a mis-nomer for the sickness industry.

Myself, I wonder about the ascorbic acid. Awhile back I heard someone say
it was a chemical and we were better off taking the natural vitamin C.
Also, if we take too much of this, could create radicals. Soo, I started
thinking I best find the right kind of C.
I like Brewers Yeast and it is supposed to have all the B vitamins you
need all in one package. When you mentioned the flakes, I wondered if was
one and the same thing. I got mine at Beyond=a=century which is a very
good, reputable company.
