Hi again, Marshalee,
Dr. Mercola has a NO GRAIN Diet with No white sugar, grains and points out
that in the top 10 foods that are good for you--there is Not a single grain.
He recommends eggs, sausage, bacon or sausage for breakfast--NO Bread--We
follow this most of the time. He also says it's okay to have a
sausage-egg-biscuit occasionally.
Richard - as I was reminded in a post by and to Garnet:
Mercola is not a "Doctor" in the "new" sense. It should have been obvious
to you that he is no Pharma-Salesman! He talks sense and cures! :-)
Doctor was originally a title (posthumous) conferred on 33 Roman Catholic
Saints by the Mother Christian Church for their good work as ......
SALESMEN! Oh, and to "doctor" something/someone as a verb, also means to
"alter or to make impure with intention to deceive" .......... so I guess
it really only properly fits one group ............
But, most of those calling themselves Doctors are really only
Baccalaureates in Medicine + Field Experience. So the title should really
be earned like a real Doctorate. So: BM Bachelor of Medicine, 5 years
of practise later and tests of competence: MM (Ears) or whatever
specialisation, then if doing something that actually contributes to our
knowledge base ( the idea behind the Academic Ph D), by peer acclaim, DM
(Surgery) and become a real Doctor.
Apologies to any other M.D.'s here - it is just my pavlovian reaction to
the "white coat syndrome"........ :-)
Oh, we do need a new title to cover good people like him - he is actually
licensed to cut you up and do things to you, but he is an Osteopathic
Physician ( D.O.) and much better trained than an M.D. but not very
welcome in the AMA. How about: R.P. Real Physician? Or O.P Of (the)
People?
I'm afraid that one way or another I still do object to Vets and Dentists
calling themselves "Doctor" - they are only imitating a wrong system and
thus perpetuating it.
Mind you, I fully understand what it is all about - nobody pulls money
easier than someone with that prefix. Look at what happened to the lowly Vet!
I know people who spend more money on their animals than they do on
themselves at the outrageous prices they are forced to pay without even the
cushion of Medicare......
Cheers,
Himagain
