So, people have phones (maybe more than one). Phones have lines (almost certainly more than one). Lines are an appearance of a SIP user (AOR) on a phone. A phone could have appearances of several SIP users, some shared and some not. Having the same AOR (SIP user) appear on a phone twice, with one marked shared and one not, would not be a good idea. The person would have to know before they select it whether or not the button was shared or not. There is no restriction on how many phones can have appearances of a shared user. (Actually there might be a limit of 20 - I haven't decided whether it applies or whether I should keep it). Later versions of the I-D allow calls to be marked as "exclusive". Not in this offering. I still think (2) is a more friendly way to configure. We could offer the ability to override on a per-line (i.e. per-phone) basis. And, regardless - the Appearance Agent needs a list of the shared users, not the shared lines.
